The Bugline Trail in Northern Waukesha County has 50+ caches and the surrounding area has another 200 within a few miles. A 100+ day has been done by quite few cachers here.

I might be a little biased since I have 150 active caches in this area of which you could also probably do 75-100 in a long day.

#4 is nicer than #3. #3 is in an open field. #4 is at the edge of the woods and has a nice campfire area.

You can cancel a site for a charge of $15 with the rest of the fee refunded. I would just go ahead and reserve then like Gramps says. I know if you miss on them and have to go with #1 and #2 we would then go to the family campground. #1 and #2 are not as nice as is the pit toilet in that area.

just a quick note that the limits on the group sites are 50 people per site and we are looking at two group sites (3 & 4) which are next to each other.

We checked out the group sites last time we were in the park and were hoping 3 and 4 would be the choice. They also have the best pit toilet which is close. 5 is already reserved and 1 and 2 aren’t very nice so I wouldn’t wait too long before making the reservation.

Just wondering, what # group site is reserved?

Is that Gibraltar as in Fish Creek? Could I be so lucky to have one that close?

Congrats! Not only does she hide woodpeckers, but she finds them too. A great series that we had a lot of fun with.

Congrats Pete and Happy New Year!

Sounds like something that would recognize only a small portion of Wisconsin cachers and intimidate and discourage new cachers. I personally wouldn’t want to be included. I get enough recognition locally and sometimes I find it isolates me from some new cachers. I don’t see it having any value in promoting Wisconsin geocaching. Of course that’s only me and I respect everyones opinions on the subject.

This is a really great book. Sunshine got an author autographed ccpy from the Ecorangers for her birthday. Lots of tales of great geocaching adventures between the pages.

Well since I usually go against the grain and have my own way of thinking
of things which is opposite what mostly everyone else thinks, I won’t disappoint on this topic either. I think the 10 to 1 ratio is about right.

I try to find something positive about EVERY cache I find and I usually do!
My favorites will easlily be 1 out of every 10. I guess I don’t understand why people would continue to geo-cache if you are only enjoying or liking
1 out 50 caches. There is way to much critisizing and complaining about caches, wether it be how they are hidden, how easy, how boring ect…a cache hide is what YOU make it as the finder.

I will gladly use all of my 393 favorites up, I think its a great tool for me as a hider to know what people like and don’t like…or rather what they remember and don’t remember.
My “IceBerg” cache has 11 favorite votes and i would never have guessed that would be the favorite choice amongst all my hides.

As far as favortism and posse votes…yes I’m sure that will occur but if you find a cache hidden by a friend, doesn’t that make it more special and memorable? It does for me….and that makes it a favorite.

First of all Martin, what the heck are you doing in the forums? This is your first post ever. I agree with many of your points and we’ll probably both end up using many of our favorite points on each others hides, but that is something that has always been fun for us and has helped our friendship grow. All of that said now it will probably turn out that it wasn’t you that posted, but Josh.

I avoid defining this one on my hides because everyones opinion varies so much. As far as finding a cache we prefer ones that are at least .25 one way. Anything up to .25 we consider a park and grab.
