Congratulations, a great way to end the year.
I was going to compile a list of numbers and accomplishments for the past year, but after reading several of the other posts I realized what was most important. Three recent events stand out the most.
The day after Christmas we went out with our daughter’s family (OPPS5) and grandkids and helped them find milestone #900 in the snow.
The Monday after Christmas we went caching in the snow again with our 13 year old granddaughter Emma.
Both of those caching outings gave Emma the opportunity to use her new Garmin that we gave her for Christmas. The smile on her face when she opened it is my most memorable geocaching recolection of 2009.
The last time I was at Sherpers in Oconomowoc they had them for under $20. They also have a store in Hales Corners.

I just can imagine the owner’s log e-mails that come in with that many hides. Wow.
Most hiders wouldn’t hide so many if they didn’t enjoy reading the logs. I get anywhere from 50-100 e-mails a week depending on the time of year. The most I ever got in one week was probably about 200. The most I ever had in one day was 70.

Here’s the statement that got me…..”elderly couple?”
They’re 65 and 67!!!! Not elderly!!!
Seriously, interesting article and glad to hear they were found and safe.
I guess we won’t be meeting them on the trail any time soon.
And BTW, I’m 62 and consider myself young.
Congratulations. Looking forward to meeting you at the Great Northwoods Event next week.
I would definitely interested in Wet Maze or anything in that area. Eagle Source was a little far even though after looking at the pictures I missed a great outing. I’m getting a little bored with numbers now and adventures are much more appealing. Our last two adventures were snowy outings with the grandkids. We found 10 with them last saturday and 14 on Monday. We” miss them when the go back to school next week.
Congratulations on you 200th hide. I have 150 so I know how much work it is to keep finding intersesting places and maintaining the caches.

I don’t know this person, but way to go.
200 is an accomplishment, but not a high number. Look up King Boreas in Minnesota. He has over 2000. The last time I checked there were over 10 cachers in Wisconsin with over 200 hides.
Congratulations on a great milestone and a great adventure. I enjoyed all of the logs and photos from everyone and you all deserve a big congratulations on your adventure.
Here’s a quack on the back to you for a dilly of a job. That’s the best I could do getting a duck and the pickle into one line.
Who put that picture osf Sasquatch on the home page?

75 caches on my ever changing watchlist for various reasons. I even have a watch on one of Marcs
Some of the reasons:
entertainment
availability
watching our grandkids hides
some of our dnfs
disabled that we want to find
caches that have interesting logs written
winter availability
events
just general spying and snoopingThe best Christmas gift I got was the smile on out 13 year old grandaughter’s face when she opened the Garmin that I got her for Christmas. We’re taking her out to do 10 caches today and 20 on Monday. She’s our ace-in-the-hole for tough finds and earned her gift from all the help she gave us since we started. She’s probably been with us on about 500 of our finds. It’s also a nice escape from her 8 and 10 year old brothers.
