Congratulations. I can appreciate what an accomplishment that is. I’m one away from 100 hides and I already know that the next 100 will be even harder to come by. After that many hides you set your standard higher and look for more meaning in placing one. It seems that no matter where your from that it is also getting increasingly harder to find interesting and appropriate places for hides. We’re looking forward to trying your new ones at the campout next weekend.
You’re not by any chance a proud father, are you?

Maybe someone was following you as you hid them and removing them?
Ghosts?
Sounds interesting alright…
I see dead people?
We bought a 6 oz. can of Permanone by Repel at Wal-Mart for $6. For repelling ticks on clothing and gear, DO NOT apply to skin. You apply it to the clothing and let it dry for 2 hours before wearing. If you’re buying this for the campout remeber to read the instructions or there will be a lot of naked campers standing around waiting for their clothing to dry. We also saw it at Sherper’s and Gander Mountain for $7. It contains.5% permethrin.

Being we sometimes travel to cache it would be nice to know what some of the better caches in that area are.
Thia was my motivation. We’re at a point now where we have to travel to find caches and it would be beneficial to know who the popular cache hiders are and the recommended caches in an area. COTM is more of a kudo to the owner than an assessment of caches in an area. Right now a keep a file of any caches that I hear about that sound interesting. It would be much easier to have some type of reference source to browse.
Eliminate COTM and expand ways to recommend caches that are more than worthy to visit in each region. As the owner of 99 hides I only have two worthy of COTM. The rest are good hides, but I would be embarrassed if any of them were nominated. I would much rather have a nice comment about a hide or a recommendation for a visit than a COTM award.
We have to borrow a geodog when we need one. Our daughter’s family (OPPS5) has Odie the geodog. He found the Goldidigger’s Stuffed Cache before we could. He also has two hides of his own. They are “Odie’s Cache” and “ODIE”. We’re taking care of him in June for 10 days while his family is at Disneyworld. He may hide another one then. He likes to swim and was thinking of maybe something water related Like over his head).
We haven’t gone paperless yet, so we do print out some sheets when we go out. This problem started a few months ago after a groundspeak overhaul. Since then decrytped hints also revert back to encrypted when trying to print out simple forms.
It would be a toss up for me. It would be very hard to give up hiding caches. I get a lot of enjoyment out of the reactions and logs on my hides. I wouldn’t miss finding caches as much as the interesting places that they have taken me to. It seems that every geocacher who places hides has a secret spot that they have been willing to share with all of us. I never would have experienced that without looking for caches.
Signing the log only TFTC.
Hides in evergreens.I forgot to mention one of my own, GC1G1VD Wisconsin Veterans Riverwalk Memorial in Delafield. It’s an easy one hour walk and back finding clues at markers to commemorate each of the wars that the Country has been involved in. One of the best playgrounds in Waukesha County is at the west end of the Riverwalk in Cushing Park. The cache is dedcated to our son, LTC Todd Taves of the Wisconsin National Guard who served in the War in Iraq and was the speaker at the dedication of the Riverwalk Memorials.

Light green would be a nice choice since we have had grey a few times.
TEI printed the design out on both background colors. The design jumps out more on the light green and was a little drab on grey. I know Sunshine will buy one if it’s green.
Tempt me, will there be M&M salad?

Prime candidate – The Zilmer Trail 13 stepper. Great!
Hmm, nothing comes up with “Zilmer” on a search on GC.com.
Zillmers trail GCQYWK
Here are two of the best I’ve done recently, both in Waukesha County.
BlackBelts “Nature Hill” GCYKFD in Oconomowoc. 10 parts with permanent wp markers. A great hike of about a mile in a loop through a School Forest. Some of the wps are close together. but still fun. It took less than an hour.
Ranger Boys “Indian Trail” GC1J52D in Monches. I won’t say how many wps, but it’s more than ten. One of my all time favorite hides. Lots of bogus wps. In an undeveloped Waukesha County Park. I did it in 4 trips since I live close by. It’s a 3-4 hour commitment if you do it all at once, but well worth the investment.
Personally as someone who hides a lot of caches I wouldn’t place one like these. I did however just place a 7 part series in Merton, RING AROUND THE MILLPOND. It’s a 2-1/2 mile loop that has 5 othe caches along the way.
PM me if you have questions on any of these.
