If you’re in the Belgium, WI area (zip 53004) … Try Deano’s Steakhouse … http://www.deanos-steakhouse.com/.

The steaks are giant and great … this places seems to draw people from a fair distance away. Prices are not low, but the food is high quality. Plus it’s only 5 minutes from 10 of my caches 🙂

    10 caches, YUMMY!

When your wife asks you to go out for a loaf of bread you grab your car keys, wallet, and gpsr, even though the store is just down the block.

Good one! How long were you gone?

You travel out of state to attend your niece’s wedding and are the first couple to arrive at the church. After finding the guest book and seeing nothing but blank pages you add FTF after your signature. (true story)

It sounds to me like you both may be too POOPED out to reach 10,000.

Congrats Justin. We’re glad we had the opportunity to have found a couple of these with you and thanks for including some of our hides in your total. Since you’re so happy with your accomplishment does that mean you forgive me for starting the post about your colorful shirt?

I really like Justin’s camo outfit in the new BOD photo.

If you liked the shirt, you should have seen the little pink socks with Betty Boop on them….

in reply to: Trouble Downloading Waypoints into Garmin from GC #1902793

If we’re only going out to do a few caches I use the Garmin plugin for both the handhelds and the nuvi. Downloading always works better than hand loading for me. I almost always screw up the coordinates for at least one of our three units when hand loading.

I really believe that everyone who voted did so with the intent of electing the most qualified candidates. Remember that all eight who ran did so because of deep interest in geocaching and the WGA. Regardless of who won we would have had a well qualified BOD. If there were a need to do any scrutinizing it would be at the nomination level. I’m not sure that Jeremy’s classifying me as a well known SE Wisconsin geocacher is correct, but it was my wife(Sunshine) who opened her own account in January so she could vote. It also gives her an individual identity that she wanted because of the large number of events that we attend. I also recently added her name to our geocaching.com name. We personally talked to every candidate running between January 1 and the election because we wanted to cast informed votes. We participated in the election because it is our interest to have Wisconsin geocachers represented by the most qualified candidates.

Congratulations Greg. It’s always fun to see your family at events and also to attend Emily’s special events.

in reply to: My Tree !!!! #1902084

All deciduous trees should be wrapped with trunk tape from the ground to the first branches before winter and removed in spring. This should be done until the bark is no longer smooth or usually about 3″ in caliper. This will give you winter protection from rodents, frost crack and deer rubbing. Your tree will probably suffer some permanent damage from this mishap, but I would still quick wrap it and cross your fingers. It’s not dead until it’s dead. Don’t leave trunk tape on during warm weather or it will provide a nesting spot for insects and new problems. Also it is no longer recommended to use pruning paints or solutions. PM me if you have any further questions.
