Isn’t that called “The Jimmy Hoffa Cache”.
You might want to reconsider thye picnic. I think you’ll find most there would be quite forgiving and you’ll learn a lot more there in one day meeting other geocachers than you will in a year going on by yourself.

Mister Greenthumb & Sunshine
Bill & VickiMy first gpsr was a Etrex Legend as a gift. We just replaced it with another the same. Sunshine also has a Legend model. In less than 2 years we have found almost 1100 caches and the only problems with these units has been losing a signal under heavy cover. I’ve hidden almost 70 caches and get very few complaints on the accuracy of the coordinates. We purchased a Nuvi200 (about the lowest price you can get) earlier this year and that has done wonders for out of town trips. It accepts downloads and is easy to use. So our 2 Garmins and the Nuvi cost less than $400. We may go paperless in the future if we can do it affordably, but for now we would rather spend the extra money on gas to travel all around this great state caching.
Congrats Pete. This is quite an accomplishment considering the miles that you’ve put on chasing them down. Thanks for the caches that you’ve placed in the Waupaca area for our frequent visits there and for playing the LC game and making fun to watch you, Alex ans Dave battle it out. Good luck on trying to hold your lead for this month. T think Alex might be holding back on some last minute logging.
Justin, I know how you feel. I lost my first love 2 weeks ago when all she could manage was a blank stare back at me. I chose to replace her with a mail-order bride and am know weel on the road to recovery.
I just checked my stats and to date I’ve logged 76 dnf’s. Occasionally I skip one, but that’s only when I’m positive that I’m just “stupid” that day and I probably should have made the find. I have a lot of hides and check on them when there are multiple dnf’s. I also read every log for my hides which on some weekends exceeds 100. It helps me maintain my hides and make adjustments where necessary.
I wouldn’t say we like winter caching better than other times of the, but winter doesn’t stop us and we find just as many in winter as we do summer. One thing about winter caching is that the finds can many times be much more rewarding. I’m picking out caches to search for right now for our trip to Marinette County next week which will include find #1000 and I’m eliminating most with recent logs that have any mention of blood loss to mosquitoes.

As of today there are 136 Wisconsin teams with 1,000 finds or more….We will need a wider lens.
Seeing this glimpse of Wisconsin geocaching history makes me feel really great that we will be joining the group this weekend.

I have not heard from anyone if they are coming to the event if I do not hear soon I will start to think no one likes me please post if you are coming and post on the cache page for all to see 😀 😀
I have 21 teams coming to my event this Sunday. It’s been listed for over 6 weeks. Half of them signed up in the last week. It’s common for most events for a surge of sign ups near the end. Good luck with your event.

dial up??? dial up??? who has dial up anymore………
I still have dial up too. If I had loftier goals I would probably make the switch, but I’m happy with our 50 per month average. I’m thinking more of spending my money for something in the field rather than at the desk.

I’m planning an event that will include roasted pork and swimming 5 minutes after you eat ….
… is it ok to just called it: Pignic and Crampout ?????
I checked witn my mother and she said I have to wait 30 minutes after eating before I can swim so I’ll probably miss your event – sorry!

when I was a young cacher…nothing stopped me. Now I think twice about those electrical storms, unless I get stuck on one.
I didn’t know that they had geocaching that long ago.
If you’re biking on the Bugline in Lisbon the first parking lot that you come to in Lisbon Community Park has a path to the trail. The trail goes west 1 mile to Merton from there and as far east as you want to go. There is a parking lot for the trail in Sussex on Waukesha Avenue, but that is closed to traffic for the summer due to road construction. I will have two new caches on the Bugline near the Lisbon Park next weekend for my event there on the 27th. Hope to see some of you there. I have 10 temps in place for the event and there will be 5 or 6 new permanent hides in the area that I will be submitting for publication on that day.

It is just so helpful to be able to know where the trails start, where to park, etc… For instance if anyone has done the bugline in Sussex – where the heck do you park?
The Bugline is only 12 miles long so if you took your bike and parked at one end you would only have to ride 24 miles to grab all of the caches. That would solve your autorouting problem, now all that would remain is what to do about your sore #*@.
