If it changes KAC would get my vote. The other two seem to restrict the cache style to quite young cachers and might discourage adults from seeking Kiddie type caches. I still like KFC as it covers the “kid in all of us”. Gotta go, I have three grenadchildren waiting for me to pick them up. I’ll let you know how I did picking out the schedule for today.

I added KFC to 12 of mine and a note saying Kid Friendly Cache. I like the idea and think it will help a lot when we travel to other parts of the state and have kids along. I like the KFC caches too even though I’ll be 61 in April. I carry a bag of trading items at all times and have gotten into the habit of stocking depleted caches where ever we go. We’re looking forward to caching in Appleton this year with the addition of KFC and the help of the Lonely Cache Game.

Besides one full time and one part time job, the majority of our time is spent as professional grandparents. All four of our grandchildren live within 5 miles of us. Both of our childrens families are geocachers so it’s a toss up between gecaching or grandparenting slowly becoming our full time profession. I had a full time landscape business which I recently scaled down and took a full time job at night. This gives us more time during the day for the kids and geocaching.

Abtaining from voting. Let’s see something more positive posted and stop the nonsense.

It’s that simple. No keyholders, no dead ends, no 2 mile hikes, room for trade, and bonus if there’s a playground nearby.

I added the KFC notation to a dozen of my hides. I’m happy to say that they meet your criteria. I have 3 grandchildren (6, 9 & 11) and used them as a model for deciding. I have 3 puzzle caches that require using the playground to solve. One does have a magnet for the final, but anything else would get muggled there. Eric’s Birthday Cache is a tub of party toys. I have a 1/4 mile easy multi with a fishing tackle box at the end at a millpond that also has frogs. There are two Emma’s Girlie Girl caches that only have girl items and typical boys items are not allowed. All of these caches are in parks or along park trails. If anyone ever wants a guided tour of these fun KFC caches let me know. Theyare all within 2 miles of my house in Sussex.

The Don-Q Inn is a great place! I have stayed there several times. It is quite interesting. My personal favorite is the cave room. I do know that there is a Super 8 nearby as well.

Anyone considering the”Cave Room” may want to think twice. There is a rumor going around that Lostby7 is turning the”cave” into an Earthcache for release on the weekend of the Campout. With his new Earthcache game just out with a space for a “cave” find you may have a lot of visitors.

People play the game differently. You play it how you like it and I’ll play it how I like to. That’s the beauty–it’s big enough for all! 😀 Wade & Tami

2006 was our first full year of geocaching and one of the most enjoyable parts of it was attending events (we did seven). This year we plan on even more. Some of the other cachers that we now call our friends hunt and log the temps, but we know several who show up, socialize, log one “attended” find only and we all still have a great time together. Geocaching isn’t a competition. If you don’t like other peoples numbers stop looking at their logs and profile. Let’s all spend more time on things constructive and help maintain and improve the sport. Take a look at the “general” forum and see what Team Hemisphere Dancer is doing. That is what geocaching should be about. I would like to wake up tomorrow and see all of this temporary log controversy gone.

I have hit at least one of yours up in the Crivitz area. I would like to get down your way sometime to find a few but I will wait til the weather is more Hemi Friendly.

Oops! I forgot the hide in the campground at Twin Bridges Park. That’s what happens when you have two geocaching homes.

I’m happy to say that I was able to quickly add the “KFC” designation to 10 of my 50+ hides. They are a combination of regular, small and micro size caches. There are also puzzles and unique containers. All but one are in the Sussex-Merton area, so this would be a great place to take the kids on an outing. I keep them well stocked with trading items and have a reputation for producing and maintaining quality caches. My other 20+ caches would make this area an ideal place for your whole team to visit. I would be happy to give you any information that might help before coming to this area. Most have been found on a regular basis and a lot are WF. Thanks for thinking of the kids.

My 3 grandchildren (5, 8 & 11) introduced me to geocaching and bought me my first GPSR. Whenever I go out with them there have be at least a few KF regular size caches on the list so they can take their bucket of trading stock along. I hid 50 caches last year and I think almost half of them are KFC. If the KFC notation gets implemented I’ll gladly go through and add it to mine. As with anything in life kids are the future so lets include them in the game.

I’m looking forward to coming…we have lots of tents and are buying a pop-up this spring…we just don’t have a car that can pull it yet 😕 So chances are we will be showing up with a tent.

Maybe you could have a special popup camper designed that looked like a natural feature and turn it into a traveling earthcache.

I heard once that there is this magnetic container you can stick to your car with keys in…not sure what it’s called though.

See if you can find out what that magnetic device is called. It sounds like it would be a good micro cache container. What will they think of next? I heard a rumor that there were waterproof boxes that the military kept ammunition in. I’m not sure what they are called either.
