Congratulations! Our favorite State Park. Great choice for a milestone. We got all but three when we were there in August and will have to wait until next June to finish. Great park for geocaching.

We ate at George Webb’s in Sussex today and sat in your booth. Hope to see you both there on December 6th.

They just want to make sure that when a geocacher falls out of a tree that the WGA gets sued and not Dane County. I’m sure any lawyer will tell you to back off on any arrangement like this.

What do they use your taxes for in Dane County?

Since 95% of the other Wisconsin geocachers are younger than us we feel like the mom and dad a lot. We cache with quite a few teams that are close to the ages of our children. Just the fact that they will cache with us makes us feel young and we do our best to keep up with them.

Slightly off topic is that we hope none of you ever have to have a year like we are going through personally. But if you do I can guarantee that your geocaching friends will be some of the people that you will be able to count on to help you through tough times.

Someone is making a strong bid to be the official WGA photographer! Fun to see this recollection of the day.

Just to let everyone know, this was my idea. The only secret is where the cache that Sunshine and I hid is. No one else knows. I’m not sharing the location with anyone, but for enough money it probably could be yours. I offered to make this happen as a new fun event for those who attend. I assumed that because it was announced that it was happening so that those without smart phones could possibly team up with someone who did. The coordinates will be posted shortly after publication for everyone else at the event.

Bill I have something better than money. If you tell me the coordinates ahead of time I’ll do a professional photo shoot of you at GC57FMW. I’ll give you until tomorrow to decide. 😉

I like your offer John and would take you up on it, but I don’t think you have a camera with a big enough lens.

John, could you elaborate a little more just in case you missed something?

Since I was getting not much accomplished, I went and added my photos to cache logs from the weekend. In my gallery, it says we have 2298 images. Sadly in recent years, most of those are probably screen shots to qualify for some goofy challenge or other.

I am going to try to be a bit better about this now.

And how many are bird pictures?

We take the camera along on every caching outing. Some of the photos get deleted as soon as we get home. The others are filed on the computer. We keep separate folders for different subjects. I just looked and we have 834 photos in our geocaching gallery. Not a lot by John Sudar’s standards, but a nice representation of where we have been. I do look at photos on others logs often. There are certain cachers that post scenic photos and we have found many caches to visit from seeing them. Being grandparents we also enjoy seeing photos of all of the kids and how they have grown since we started caching 8 years ago. I will agree that FB and other social medias have probably become more popular. I spend time looking at photos on FB and the lady I live with says I spend too much time there.

I don’t want to steal this thread, but regardless of your opinions on this topic I can fully reassure you that a very high percentage of all of the geocachers that you know will be the people that you can count on no matter what the situation is. We haven’t found a cache yet this month and probably won’t until the WGA Picnic. That’s a long stretch for us and something that doesn’t happen very often. The friendship that we have been shown the past few days including many personal messages far exceeds the satisfaction of any cache we have ever found.

We have been to Casa Tequila in Pewaukee and Hartford and have always enjoyed the meals there.
