Maybe you were suppose to give up geocaching for lent or something. 😈
Not Funny! Not Funny! Although this did make me laugh.
Still not working for me.
Because Windows 8 was so new when I bought the laptop it also has Windows 7 installed. I tried logging on to GC using Windows 7 and it didn’t make any difference.
Turned it off, spun it in a circle 3 times, turned it back on and nothing changed. Everything else seems to be there, but no logs. All other things on GC are working for me. There is a note on the top of the screen saying something about older browsers, but I have Windows 8 and IE10 so that shouldn’t be a problem.
Tried that John, didn’t help. Logged out of GC and logged back in, didn’t help.

its interesting to see the different opinions. weve probably visited about 2/3 of the parks, and it seems like we enjoy whatever we dont commonly experience around here, so the lakefront parks like those in door county or kohler andrae get our attention. i agree about the county parks, too. coon forks is nice. eau claire dells east of wausau is also pretty cool. the state forests also have units with camping and various attractions, like black river state forest or the various kettle moraine units.
all i can say is…weve done all counties. we did both delormes two separate times, and we still discover more wonderful places in the state.
What’s with no capital letters? Is your shift key broken? Sorry to be picking on you, but your typing is HUMERUS.
Governor Dodge and Hartman Creek are two of our favorites. Both have great hiking and lots of caches. They both have good swimming and fishing too. They fill up fast and we make our reservations at least 10 months ahead of time if you are going on a weekend. Easier to get in Monday-Thursday.
Harrington Beach is nice, but very small and you would have to make reservations as soon as the 11 month date comes up – hard to get a spot otherwise. The same would apply to Devil’s Lake and anything near the Dells.
We like Point Beach too and it’s easier to get a spot. Lots of things to do in that area, but most of the caching would be out of the park. Great bike trail.
Eureka was another brand that we considered. They also rated very high. We previously had a canvas Wildwood tent made by Laacke and Joy, but they are no longer made. That one lasted 30 years with no leaks.
We like to camp in all weather so we only use canvas tents. We bought a new Kodiak tent last year. It’s a #6121 12′ x 9′ cabin tent. We have used it in 35 degree temperature and stayed warm. It takes two to set it up, but we can do it in 10 minutes. Got it online from Competitive Edge Products. EEvery nylon tent we ever owned leaked. Our canvas tent is winter rated.
Thanks Dave – we’re leaving right from the Chili Event for 3 days in Door County. Your recommendations will save me some time. I already looked ar Canal Works, but it doesn’t look like a good winter cache – interesting though.

I’m about 1/3 through the book, and am enjoying it. Please don’t post spoilers here!
The gang of bald guys did it!
Congratulations to the 2 new and 2 re-elected board members.
Even though the voter turnout is consistently low we all owe those voters, the members who choose to run for the board and the current and past board members our gratitude for serving all Wisconsin geocachers.
What Pete said is right on the mark. This is a hobby and not a lifetime commitment (well maybe for some) and members come and go. The only way though that the WGA remains viable is that the members who benefit from it’s existence also consider giving back in any way that their time allows.
Can you imagine the logging nightmare if every cache on the ET Trail was named “geocache”. Who woulda ever thunk.
Oops! GC160R0
No wonder I have so much trouble finding caches. -
