GC161R0 is hidden at the location of the first geocache in Wisconsin. There is a link on the page to that original cache page. Unfortunately it went missing before anyone found it. Click on the hider for some interesting info.
So what was the first cache ever found in Wisconsin?
Finally got it to accept and get beyond that page, but it took about a half dozen tries. I don’t know a lot about computers. As long as I can get caches loaded and logged I consider it to be working properly. Why else would you buy a computer. I have had some quirky problems with this new laptop with Windows 8.
Great milestone accomplishment, especially in the weather that we had on Saturday.

I believe I have my mind made up. However, I am very disappointed by the responses , or lack of responses, from candidates regarding questions that were posed in the forum. Hopefully this isn’t indicative of the potential we can expect from our newly elected BOD.
I feel the same as Mathman, very disappointed with the responses this year to excellent questions. At least it was easy to eliminate some of the candidates who failed to respond. I do feel though that there are more than four qualified candidates worth considering. I usually vote as soon as it opens, but still have one undecided .
We’re going to pass on this adventure. We always almost always cache together and Sunshine was going to come along, but there is going to be too much testosterone on the trail for her. She was hoping there would be a few female cachers in the group, but it doesn’t look like there will be any.
Seriously thinking about it. Watching the weather. I would need temps above twenty to consider it.
Anytime that I have deleted a log it was only after I had sent an e-mail to the cacher explaining why I would delete their log. I even ask them to do it and if themselves first. Only after that will I delete it.
I’m not complaining about the occasional mistake or pen that won’t write. Today I checked logs and found that a cacher with over 6K finds had logged over a dozen hides of ours on a specific day and had not signed any of the logs. I checked the logs thoroughly to make sure they had not signed on a different day, but that was not the case.

On occasion I actually post a picture of the log sheet I’ve found (usually when any other picture would be a spoiler) – I’ve noticed that sometimes there are signatures missing when comparing them to the online logs. Maybe signing the log is considered by some to be an ALR. 😉
On occasion? – you have an album full of log photos
With our 6K milestone coming up soon it would be fun to do something physically challenging. I do try and be more careful now since my knees are not what they used to be. But at 65 I think I still can do some of the physically challenging hides. If it’s a must do hide that seems to be beyond my present state of capability we have grandkids that can be easily bribed.
We did hike about 5 miles today and found 18 of 20. DNF’s do not bother us anymore and we won’t go back to try those two again.
I have to stop writing now and go take some Alleve.
We just did these two last week.
GC411C2 and GC3C0DA
Your Check is in the Trail despite being a long hike had very clever waypoints. You can also pass the oldest cache in Waukesha County while doing this one. These are on the IAT.
Black Bottom Stomp is in the Ten Chimneys Nature Area along with four other caches.
Relatively easy in winter right now.Congrats should go to Pat and Becky for putting up with Pete’s singing.
Congratulations Pete!
01/05/2013 at 2:55 am in reply to: First cache hidden – looking for expert advise and questions #1966679Boy you sure have a lot of questions. I think you better get all of the answers and fully understand them before you hide any caches. Sorry to sound negative, but I have never run across someone being this clueless on hiding a cache. There’s an event in Milwaukee on 1/13. You can gain a lot of info from talking to other cachers at events. I’ll be there and have hidden over 400 caches. I would be happy to answer any questions that you have. You have way too many to answer here.
Wake up call for me. So that’s what browser means. I didn’t realize you could find things on the Internet other than geocaching. This opens up a whole new world.
Nothing terrible about that – congrats!
I thought it was The Lonely Cache “Game”.
Not the Lonely Cache “Life and Death Situation”. -
