Congrats Wendy!
Always log your dnf’s. If you don’t it’s a disservice to other cachers and the cache owner and not a sign of your inexperience or inability to find the cache. By logging the dnf future seekers now have your log to help them decide whether or not to look for the cache. The cache owner can use your log to determine whether a maintenance visit is needed. It’s proper geocaching etiquette to log your dnf.
Congratulations August, Liam, Luke and Noah. And thanks to Mom too for letting your four boys go geocaching so we can follow their adventures and misadventures.
Congratulations Lisa!!!
Oh, and you too Mark.Trick or not it was nice to find out that I am awesome, especially since today was my birthday.
When I heard this news I was so happy that I could finally take the shovel out of my geo-bag. I will keep it close by though to help me dig through the %#$@ that shows up here from time to time.

One time it was raining real hard and the water was rushing down that narrow stairway between the buildings so hard that it would have swept you down the stairs. We’ll be sure to check out this cache when we’re camping at HC at the end of June. We always try to do a few Grams and Gramps caches when we’re in the area.
I know what someone wants from Grandma for his next birthday!
You’re never too young to want it to be about the numbers.@Braid Beards Gang wrote:

Chris, your entry wins the “booby” prize!
I have had trouble finding a few of our hides when we went to do maintenance. It took a while to find some of them and we were close to having to log a dnf, but would never log a find on one of our own.
We still have the Etrex Legends that we bought when we started 6 years ago. We can’t afford to replace them, but have never had trouble in deeply wooded areas. We use them to get as close as we can and then hide in the bushes and wait for someone with a better unit to come and find the cache. After they leave we come out of our cover and sign the log.
Souvenirs are part of geocaching, com so that is an impossibility.
Congratulations to the Pirates on surving the trip to Hippieland, oh and the milestone too!

Thank you all for your replies. I have not been to a “class” since Marc’s first one years ago that taught paperless on the Palm. I have used that without difficulty until this recent boggle. I did not even realize the Oregons gave you cache info. I may look into one, if they are not too expensive. Are they worth the money? 😕
The new Garmin Etrex series start at $120 and offer paperless caching. Garmin, Magellan and deLorme all have units under $200 that offer paperless caching. These are not touch screen. You can get a Garmin Dakota 20 touchscreen for $200 that will give you paperless caching.
