Finders tree is a must if you are caching with 2 or more kids. You can do it with “older” kids too so everyone gets to see how the cache is hidden. Sunshine insists I do it since I usually lead the way and often spot the cache before she does.

If you don’t validate your account, you can’t place or log caches (today). The “inactive” designation is given when a person requests for their account to be deactivated. What has come out recently is that some of the lackeys didn’t know they were supposed to tell these folks that deactivating their account would also deactivate their caches.
I had thought that this status occurred when emails “bounced”, but I have been assured that this is not the case.
Note that some of the “Not Validated” members are old timers who joined prior to validation and then never responded to the validation email.
This partially makes sense, but why would someone place caches and less than 2 months later want to be inactive. Shouldn’t groundspeak archive rather than disable the caches?
Long ago, I stopped trying to figure out why people do the nonsense that they do. I believe they don’t archive them right away to give the person a chance to change their mind. These caches are still subject to being archived for being disabled too long.
And I thought besides the great pay, that being a reviewer was all fun and games.

Sometimes this happens when you change your e-mail account and don’t update your geocaching account. You can still find caches, but you must have an active e-mail to recieve logs on your hides. It would have to have happened after the hides were placed.
Who cares about the burrs, did you find the cache?
Congratulations on the milestone. Enjoyed reading the cache page and your log. Geocaching friends can be greater than any amout of smilies.
I agree to use temporay caches. I teach geocaching at Moraine Park technical College and use temps for the classes. That way you know the condition of the hides and what is in them. If you use existing hides and visit one that is in poor condition the enthusiasm level will go down fast.

Excellent. So where do we submit to get a cache reviewed?
😛It might be a good idea for you to do a little more finding before you get into hiding if you don’t know the answer to that. Start by reading all of the information on hiding a cache on geocaching.com.
We will be 5 this Saturday, the age I’m told I often act when on the trails. We will be celebrating while camping at Harrington Beach.

“Bartrod is a cool cat”? There must be more than one Bartrod.
Congratulations Rod on your library milestone and also your last library cache as you are probably banned from libraries now.@pkarm wrote:
wow rc you really missed the point. I log them NOT because I am in a hurry but just because it is convenient to do. Yesterday we did two WSQ and we spent a good 30 mins at each place walking around and looking at the stones once we found the cache. Reading post it seems like to may of you this is more a competition for my wife and I it is a fun little hobby. Instead of getting irritated appreciate that someone took the time out of their day to find your cache. One of the things I have noticed is that people put a lot of emphasis on the number of finds they have or numbers of hides they have. For myself it is all about spending time outdoors enjoying a simple game of hide and seek, not who I am trying to impress.
Then why log them? Just find them for fun and leave it at that.
I was working on the landscaping at a new house still under construction so there were no TV’s around, just radios. When the second plane hit everyone knew something was wrong and work stopped and everyoner was listening to the radio. Vicki was at home taking care of 4 year old Emma and 2 year old Even while their mom (our daughter Becky) was in the hospital with pregnancy problems. This inceent and the JFK assasination are two events that I will never forget where I was at the time.
Great logs and what a neat adventure. Oh, and tell dad he looks sharp in that tight rubber suit.

Fleet Farm has a “.50 cal ammo box” in Today’s weekly insert for $9.99. Since haven’t been to the store, not sure if this is their ‘big one’, of their ‘small one’.
Photo of box says: 840 CRTG 5.56MM Ball – M555 10 Round Clips LC-08A382-411
it’s the smaller size – reg price $12.99
Chainsaws and moving lots of large downed branches. Lots of hard work and sweat. Have done it and not seen any kids younger than teenagers. Probably more work than most would realize.
