if I am reading this correctly—
on the second tab of “your account” there is a space for your Geocaching.com Profile Link.
from Geocaching.com, go to your profile then cut and paste the address bar to the spot on your account Geocaching.com Profile Linkthis should allow the harvester to grab your logs. (I thought that it harvests all the logs from Wisconsin already but wouldn’t harvest out of state ones unless this link is filled in).[/quote]
Ok so I go to my profile but am not getting what this site says it should look like this is what I show in address bar http://www.geocaching.com/profile/ Now if I go to anyone else’s I get a long number after profile.
Ok so I may be a newbee here and really don’t want to say anything but some of what cheezehead made me have to say just a few things.
First I live up here in the north Rhinelander to be exact. I joined here when I first discovered geocaching and yes I have met a few follow cachers because of it.
Will I renew my membership when its up? If it was today no I would not. Why? Because outside of the forums is there anything here for me? Not really. The follow cachers I have met I’m sure I would have met them at Geocaching.com sooner or latter.
Like cheezehead I am not about to drive four hours to an event. So far I have been to one event and that was an hour drive that if I had to do it by myself I would not have done. Looking at the upcoming events the closest one come up is 59 miles away and at this time of year is close to a two hour drive south of me.
Heck I cant even change my user name here to match my ID on Geocaching.com. If you really want to do something with this site how about making it easer to find things. Like how to have ones logs from geocaching.com get here under recent logs or do you have to manually do the logs here also, or is this a secret only for long time members to know?
Feel free to flame me or ignore me but let me just say all this bickering about a logo has really turned me off from this site.Shot way back when Ah yes I think I can remember that far back but anyways when I was in school all we needed to graduate was one year of basic math and since I hated math guess what thats all I took. Make me do more and I will just ignore it.
So ordered the PN-40 from wallyworld on Wednesday the site said for site to store would be two weeks. Friday morning I get the email saying it was ready for pick up!!!! So far the only thing I have found that I don’t care for is the fact that the usb cable does not also power the unit. Now just have to get used to this unit biggest thing is figuring out how to manually put in coordinates. That and wish I could use it in Linux instead of having to boot to windows. now to go get some caches loaded in for tomorrow so I can get back out into the woods 😀
I had found the above site when I first discovered geocaching but have not been back because it did not show many caches around is this still a relative new site?
working fine for 54501
Ok so just ordered the DeLorme Earthmate PN-40 from wallyworld $228. Now for the fun of waiting for it to get to the store so I can pick it up.
So than am I better off with the Garmin over the DeLorme? I know it seams like most people use the Garmin its just every time we look at them at Wallyworld they just don’t seam like they would hold up. But than we thought the Magellan would hold up and now were down all because of a battery contact. How does the DeLorme hold up? I know looking at there web site it looks like a good unit but than I know people that can make almost anything look good on the web.
