I get to be the first one to declare Victory! Both me and my opponent (sorry Mosquito Magnets 😉 ) have no Monday night games so the outcome is already determined. 😀

I also have one of the highest point totals this week but I remember last year when I started out the first week with a bang and then fizzled. 🙄

Congratulations on kicking my butt elfdoctors!

I got a bite earlier this summer that sounds similar to that. I got it while up at the cabin in Mercer. I was thinking it was some kind of fly bite. (I always have reactions to the fly bites up north. Whether it’s deer flies or black flies….etc…) It was on my thigh and at first it itched, then formed a big bruise around it. Looked like I got nailed with a baseball.
I was pretty sure it was a fly, cuz I vaguely remembered swatting something away that had bit me when we were ATVing that day.

    Your pics are awesome!
We have a white deer living near our home just south of Burlington. He’s kinda short and chubby and almost looks more like a large goat. He’s frequently spotted near the homes in the area, I’m sure he’s getting fed quite well around here.
We also saw an albino deer last month while driving in northern WI. It was the middle of the night and we caught site of something standing on the side of the road. We thought, “no…that can’t be…was that just an albino deer???”. So we turned around and went back for another look and sure enough, there it was, pure white with red eyes. It practically glowed in the dark. We watched it as it went off into the woods and could see it for quite a while since it had no cammo.

    That is absolutely amazing!
Thanks for pointing this out, I love hearing about things that should be impossible but turns out they aren’t.
    Really cool!!

I believe we saw a wolf then! It was a bit bigger than our dog (yellow lab) and looked exactly like those in the photos! Thanks for everyone’s input! The wolf we saw was just north of Mercer on Hwy 51. We have a cache near here called Paradise Island…It’s on a little island on Pine Lake. If anyone is in the area it’s a great lake to paddle around on! There is a Loon that takes up residence here every year and an eagle’s nest on the south end. I can recommend some local places to eat if you’re interested! Just email me!

Are those coyotes or wolves? We saw one last year when we were driving up to our cabin and my husband says it was a wolf. I wasn’t so sure and thought it may have been a coyote. It looked like what you have pictured and was just walking calmly along Hwy 51. As for caching….I’ve seen a few deer which are cool no matter how many times I’ve seen them. No bear ….. yet…..
