WISearchers have caches in only four states…WI, MN, IL, and FL. But we have cached in two countries as well…USA, and Ontario Canada
Thanks…not many, but would at least like to be added to the bottom of the list.
Thanks Jeff-
Ms. WISearcherGoodness, it is excellent the way it is…I was amazed with the series section…really a great tool!
No ideas, just love it though…stats can be fun…it is certainly not what caching is all about, but it sure is fun to look at from time to time!
Thanks for a you do already!!!
Ms. WISearcherExcellent…I had planned on reporting all of the stats (have them on a spreadsheet)…and then…Mr. Brew shares this! Excellent…thanks a million!
Ms. WISearcherCongrats Brew…glad you chose Baltic…one of the Monopolize You Time Series…for your Milestone! Way to go…hope to catch you on the trails…or at least at an event soon!
Yes, a nice game of “Monopoly” might just make it all better!!!
Way to go Wooden Nickel…here’s to many many more!!!
General update…
The caches are all approved and in queue to be released…all I can say is that it will be early enough for anyone travelling to get them plugged in…so no need to stay up late…unless you want to that is…
The whole series has been beta tested by an experienced cacher that has given great feedback. This tester is actually in route to the last cache as I am typing this (This tester also left the $ in the park place cache…the little bonus that is inside of an undisclosed cache), and is not interested in the competition portion…therefore is not eligible for the winning bonus Boardwalk cache (but will be able to find the boardwalk cache that everyone else will find). All is well. It was very helpful to have a non-biased opinion. Some of the caches are very easy, some are quite difficult. All, I hope, will be enjoyable.
I can hardly believe that this is becoming a reality tomorrow…I am guessing that I might get a few emails of finds tomorrow…hehehe…good luck to all–if not for the competition, then for the actual joy of the areas that these caches will bring you to! I loved placing them, and hope that you enjoy finding them as well! I know that the beta tester has enjoyed finding them…so that is encouraging!
happy caching to you all!
Ms. WISearcherI thought I would toss my .02 in the mix here.
So often when caches are nominated for COTM I haven’t done them…so either I nominate one, or I just chose not to vote for that month.
I hadn’t done the Feb cache of the month until after it had won the award (and quite deserving of the award it was…I say do it if you can…very fun!) so obviously I hadn’t voted for it…but it was worthy.
March’s winner was a great cache also worthy of the honor…
I realize no one is saying that these caches aren’t worth the honor that they received here and are just bringing up a topic of conversation.
I would hope that there isn’t an “expiration date” on when a cache can be voted on— or due to the concentration of cachers, a Madison (you could imput Superior, Eau Claire, Wausau, Steven’s Point, etc in place of Madison) area cache would have little chance of becoming COTM…and there are MANY very worthy caches in the area…it is just that there aren’t as many cachers to vote for them. Given time…and timing…one might get the award some day.
COTM shouldn’t be a popularity contest(I am not implying that anyone has said this), but rather a kudo for a job well done on placing a great cache. I applaud all winners (and nominees and hope to get out and complete a few more of the previous winners!!!
happy caching-
Ms. WISearcherWe knew that you would hit it soon! Way to go…Glad we got to do a few with you along the way! Way to go!!!
I would agree that from your description that it sounds like a Wolf Spider. Not harmful, actually quite friendly…but if you ever want to come and play with a real tarantula…let me know. Charlotte, a school pet, would love to have you play with her…or maybe she would play with you…but we will be sure to keep her away from your laundry…sounds like there are spider weapons of mass destruction there…
Let us know if you would like some on-lookers…Mr. Elvers is one of our favorites! Great choice for any milestone! A creative and well-done multi…we did it in snowy freezing conditions…and we still loved it…
Ms. WISearcher¡Felicitaciones en setecientos escondrijos! ¡Goce de un tequilla o de una cerveza para celebrar su jalón impresionante!
Los WISearchitosIt was great fun and there are a lot of new and very enthusiatic potential new cachers because of it. Alan did a fabulous job (like there was even a question). Mr. WISearcher took a picture or two and I know that they took some pictures for their local paper…I am sure ALan will share that with us when it gets published. Some great temp caches…it was so hard to relinquish control of my GPS and let strangers get the hootie hoo’s, but it was soooo much fun to see the excitement of newbies finding their first one!!! We need more of these!
I got excited to read your story…I teach quite a bit about cranes and often have the International Crane Foundation come to do guest appearances in my classroom. I did have a recent encounter with two whoopers and without a fraction of a doubt they were in fact whoopers. It is rare to see a large group of them together as stated above there are so few in WI(in the world for that matter), but seeing any large birds in their natural habitat is sure a thing of beauty (ask me about my Heron experience sometime). Sounds like you had a very enjoyable experience nonetheless!!! Thanks for sharing.
oooh, Guess what caches we have planned for in July? Of course we will be hitting as many of Otter’s FL caches as we can while on our Weddingmoon!!! Wish we could head down there with you now…sooooo tired of cold and mud…ready for Spring!
