OK so looks like I will need to have some more fun. So I’ve previously figured out that likely or at least the first issue with the COTM Banner page is due to GC authentication token to GC.com api and everything (which has been an issue on the site to get that properly for a while, hence why Lonely Cache game I’ve hardcoded it for now).
Today while trying to look further and take care of the issue, I’m having more fun with stuff not working as desired. I’m not able to re-authenticate either the admin or my personal account at all with gc.com, but its not showing up on either gc.com accounts that the app is currently authorized……. Needing to now look further into that but looking like a fun mess for now :/ Will have to look more into later now as I was hoping to put a temp fix in today as this could become a fun rabbits hole. Especially which this could impact the new LCG list if that hasn’t already been updated. If it has let me know cause then I might still be able to get the temp fix in place.
If others are able to try when logged into wga site. Go to “My account –> Geocaching.com authorization” First look and let me know if it says “USERNAME is already authorized” or if it has some other message. Then try clicking either “Authorize” or “Reauthorize” and let me know what happens. Not sure if GC changed something on the authorization side with all of their UI and other changes.
If it says its authorized and your getting issues can you go to GC.com and login, go to “Settings–>Authorizations” and then do you see Wisconsin Geocaching Association in the potential list of other programs there?

Sorry, had some fun in job/life changes on my side. So hoping to fit some time in now later this week and will get to looking into some of the known issues. Will get the duplicate motions taken care of as well as starting to look into some of the COTM issues as those have been long existing. If there are other higher priorities, let me know 🙂

Sorry everyone I have been partially absent the past month or two. I know everyone has life going on and sadly it has been for me the past couple. Hoping to get back to tackling some of the open issues that have been shared and then continuing with some of the updates. Have a number of things to continue doing this week on my side but hopefully will be able to start things either this weekend or next week. Just wanted to provide an update, don’t worry I haven’t forgotten.

Just saw that there is a new virtual cache in Marshfield. Since I don’t have notifications set for virtuals, I didn’t see when it published. It’s been out for almost a month. Guess I need to pay closer attention.
Haha but it was on my dad’s notifications, who lives in the twin cities… He called me up asking if I was wanting to meet him there. I wanted to for an FTF on a virtual, but the 2 hour drive one way starting at 8 or 9 wasn’t appealing after packing to move all day :/
He still went for it and meet the cities finest haha, yet to visit it myself.

I am aware of the issue. All functions of the LCG with submissions and list are not impacted, just viewing the map on our website. Sadly the website that we used for showing our LCG map appears to no longer pay for their hosting meaning the map is broken currently on the website until I am able to develop a new solution. I was crossing my fingers the owners had forgotten to renew their hosting and would get it back up but that does not appear to be the case. Sadly life has been crazy and I haven’t been able to jump on this immediately. Hoping to resolve soon in the next week or two. Thanks for patience as I work to resolve this issue. 🙂
In the mean time: for premium members you can click open the bookmark list on GC, (link is on the LCG pages). Click on “Create Pocket Query” at the bottom of the bookmark list, then once the PQ is generated, click on “Map this Location” on the PQ. This will bring up a map of the lonely caches.

Been fun moving stuff this past weekend and this week 🙂 Our giant move from Apt #4 on the third floor to Apt #1 on the first floor. Got at least 40,000 steps alone of just going up and down the stairs 🙁
But apparently we are adulting and our new Couch and Loveseat we purchased is being delivered today in the rain :/

Okay, so as of today, May 7, I have yet to receive my robot. I did, however, get a nice reminder email from HQ to active it, as I agreed to do when entering the drawing for it. I’m also a worrier, and I’m afraid that if it never comes and they think it did, I’ll be automatically disqualified from any future drawings. Or, that my response to their reminder will be seen as an attempt to get a second one. I don’t want two, just the one I’m expecting. I have the attachable item ready to attach. I just need the tag it’s supposed to attach to. (I suppose if the robot never comes, I can attach the item to a different TB. But, I made it specifically for an ice cream dispensing robot, and it just won’t be the same with another tag)
I’d say reach out to GC and let them know. I can’t answer about future promos of course but so they are aware at least, or if they would resend one or not (likely not as they might of sent all of them out???). They send the promo tags out in a normal envelope with no additional anything of protection or tape. From trading geocoins/tags/pathtags with others online. They can tend to get lost in the mail likely due to damage, torn envelope, missing items. I had one promo in the past I was surprised I actually got it as there were multiple holes/ripes in the envelope. Pretty much everyone got them over a span of a few days so my guess is its no longer coming :/

Hey MTCLMBR, did you enjoy your roaming yesterday? I was tempted to put a WP under the highway bridge but wasn’t brave enough to venture in!
I very much enjoyed it, always enjoy a nice hike and was really my first time getting out (even though just my lunch) this spring.
I think you should have haha, maybe a future tunnel troll 😉 I honestly went over towards the river to see if I was able to walk through the tunnel… being in work clothes I decided no. Not sure how high it was in there with the snow melt as I looked down at it from above.

I just realized tonight that it’s been 10 years to the day since I moved into my current place of residence.
Thats a lot better than me. Since I have moved to Fond Du Lac and now that I think about that even before that. I have moved at least once every year. And I’m not letting that stop me now, moving next month 🙂 That will be Place Number 7 since 2012

Wow! No one rushed out today to find the new multicache I had published for my birthday! I doubt it was the weather; more like “multiphobia”!
I would have, saw the notification but with crazy half day at work and having my father in law over and spending time there I haven’t even gotten the cache page open 🙁 if it would of been any other day not this weekend I would’ve likely been all over it haha. Might still give me that opportunity though with “multiphobia” spreading these days. Might be able to get it Monday then if no one beats me to it 🙂
