I have been using project-gc like dmnrec and that has satisfied most of my needs and does corrected cords automatically from my personal notes. Haven’t been able to truly test out GSAK though due to having a mac as my personal computer and GSAK doesn’t want to authenticate with GC using my work laptop (likely being blocked or something). But either GC.com does it for me with its PQ’s if not I step to project-gc which I do pay for

Yea from my understanding and for a while they have stopped with development of new features on the “classic” app, only updates is really bug fixes and other similar changes. Any new features or changes are in the “intro app” now Geocaching app. But I agree most day to day caching I use my phone, if doing a trip or weekend adventure I’ll be using my GPS.

Do do the multis in the Classic app you have to be navigating to the cache and then on the map view and then hit the three dot menu to add a new coord.

Will have to look into this. Seems effective, granted it seems I never seem to always attract the ticks like others do. A coworker this morning also mentioned finding ticks on himself 🙁 didn’t think they would be out yet but it seems they are!

Yeah I haven’t checked much into other apps (for iPhone) but I know they want to move others from their “classic” app to the now no longer intro they have a lot of work to do in my opinion. Especially when you do their survey on the app with your desires for future features and it’s a long list of stuff haha.

I’ll have to check into that app. I mostly use my GPS when I go out and know Where I’ll be. But use the phone to separate out caches in lists (like LCG caches) from others and for spur of the moment caching

I would second an earlier posting on a webstore of WGA and other stuff. Being of the younger generation I do lots of online shopping and I know that when I was looking for WGA stuff after Cache Bash was disappointed until I found out stuff was available at some events. Granted that becomes ongoing commitment from someone. But WGA might go through more product with it being available especially for those that either can’t make it to the events due to various reasons (work, distance, etc.)

Have a link to the GC post? Curious as to any conversation being made there on that. Sometimes I’ve gone out of my way to go to a cache with a bug in it without reading prior logs on the cache or bug to get there and find out people commented it missing 🙁

Dare I say it, walk down a trail… I mean no phone or GPS or even printed off sheet from geocaching.com to look for a cache, I mean hiking with no caching haha…. Probably sad to say I don’t remember the last time I just went for a hike. I of course had to check for caches.

I live down in FDL and I suppose would believe I fall in that Young Adult realm haha. Outside of my 1 cache a day my weekend caching can vary. I do a lot of solo caching myself (most of my finds that way) but my GF is getting more into caching so I know the feeling. I would always be game for meeting up and caching with others.

Yea looking at it it seems as WordPress will automatically convert quotes to “smart quotes” ie make them slanted on either side. But no option to disable that from quick google searches.

But on the text tab I was able to use the html code “& q u o t ; ” and at least on my personal WP site it seemed not to convert those to the smart quotes when otherwise it did. Else could use a plugin that will enable php code on either a post/page and use the function ent2ncr( $text ) which within $text you can state the html code it should then work.

But like I first stated using & q u o t ; ” instead while on the text tab for editing seemed to prevent the conversion to smart quotes. :/

I seemed to be having issues recently ie tonight/lastnight with some new caches and copy and pasting the banners. It’s been with the quotes. They seem to be of a unique style and when I copy to geocaching.com and saving it is duplicating them. Not sure if thats geocaching.com or the source of the copy. But the original from the copy are slanted a little. I can replace those before saving and it all works ok. :/ Not sure if I’m the only one.
