My wife and I went to Memphis this weekend and St. Louis for our anniversary. We both enjoyed the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis and would highly recommend going if you are ever swinging by. Plus had to like the cache hidden in plain site around the corner from the museum.

Did you do any caching while you were in Saint Louis? I would definitely recommend Forest Park if you ever get back.

Didn’t do much caching since that wasn’t the goal of the trip. But I was kindly allowed by the non-cacher half to grab different caches that either we passed by, or at gas stops or if convenient. So was able to add a couple new states to the map 🙂

It was fun to gain points toward the souvenirs by other’s submissions of “favorite” to our caches. Those 25 points per favorite can pile up in a hurry.

I second that, probably some of the easiest souvenirs I have gotten sitting at home. Only found like 3-5 caches all worth only 3pts, rest where from the 15 points from todays event in Madison otherwise the rest were from getting rewarded favorite points.

But sadly at the end of today, I am close but no cigar for that last souvenir 🙂

Latest Grab Bag errrr I mean egg are out. Sadly will probably be skipping this one as looking at making another adult life purchase. But figured I’d throw it out there. https://shop.geocaching.com/default/trackables-grab-egg.html

I know I added on the facebook post of the tags. But as I have been adding more WI tags to my collection, I came across ‘imjedi’ tag #5128 that I inadvertently collected and realized they are/were a WI cacher in Madison area. Been slowly adding WI tags to my collection and this list has helped figure some of them out!

You too! My wife and I woke up wanting to just crawl back in bed. Even our dog had a harder time wanting to get up and moving this morning. Walked in the doors to work with our HR and she was ready to go home too haha. Theres gotta be something in the air.

Wow I knew I had this idea on the back burner for a while, thought may just over a year. Didn’t realize it was over 2 years of sitting on the back burner 🙁

Well it is back up front and seeing new life. Decided to start over though and take the opportunity to play around and learn some new technologies while I’m at it. Plus I’m liking how this one is turning out. Figured I’d drop a teaser for V2 to the WGA community. Open for feedback and suggestions. But this time, I promise I’ll get it done. I plan to bring the front map to V2 just haven’t done that yet.

As I was doing a search I came across this old thread and figured I would post what helped me get started with my geoarts. I hope someday to create a web application to facilitate geoart creations in a much simpler form.

Having some minor insider knowledge about what might be coming. PR Suggestion with being careful about describing COTM to be more like POTM as when it was first shared to me that way I assumed all Facebook since that is where POTM takes place and have a feeling others might think that way too 😉

I’m in an unusual situation. I usually have a boatload of Culver’s coupons at any given time, but I only have one in my possession. I normally get a boatload of them from different family members before older ones expire, but not this time around. I don’t mind paying full price, Culver’s is just that good. Speaking of Culver’s, one of them in Green Bay is the location of my annual Spring event on March 21. </shameless plug>

What you got to do which is what my wife and I do is get the kids meal. Get a Cheeseburger at cheaper price, plus get fries, drink and custard!!! Plus Every 10 scoopy tokens you get you can trade in for a free kids meal. Or if you don’t use the custard token that can count as a token. So with no custard, every 5 meals get 1 free 🙂

Couple things that currently come to mind.

                            1) Would be fun to see a cacher of the month or some other interval. Either nominated/suggested by WGA members or by the BOD or both. Have a list of standard questions to maybe ask them. Why do you cache, how did you pick your caching name, favorite types of caches, etc… Would be fun to learn about other members around the state that I might not run into at events or about those I already do know. Plus could help with below item.

                            2) Lack of “Fun” blog posts. I know this is based off involvement of the members and I know I’m not one to help. But I remember there being more “fun” blog posts that went beyond the Newsletter(or maybe they showed up in both). Whether it was a learning topic, or someone sharing a trip adventure or something else. Was always fun reading those (and brought me to the website). All the blog post now seem to either be reminders or some other business related, with maybe an external article here and there. But I also know getting newsletter articles can be difficult at times.

I apologize for the inconvenience that you have experienced. As a website committee we are hoping to put some time to improving things on the website over the next year. We know and are aware of many needs for improvement and have been working to address them. During this election, it has been brought to our attention about the clarity of membership status and renewing and will be looking into that. I ask for continued patience as we work to improve the site as we are all volunteers.

If you have any additional concerns or suggestions about the website, please feel free to email me at [email protected]
