in reply to: Wi.Hibiscus tries to go GPSr-less for #1100 #1935150

Congrats! It was a fun time, I cache alone, except with my dad and a friend or two a couple times, so it was fun going out with fellow cachers and showing them how I play.

this was my first time caching with somebody with 1000+ caches so even I grasped a couple tricks from you, so thankx for the experience.

we should go back for the Seldom walk and grab that one sometime and cache again.

btw, cats still on the tin roof….

in reply to: Neenah Riverwalk #1934785

I found the cache today! It still there, but it almost washed away, I found it at the shore of the lake covered in duck weed, and totally drenched, but it was at the posted GZ luckly, I dried it out and hid it better, and put some rocks in front of it to keep it from drifting again

thankx for all your help, this was a neat cache, and I didn’t want to miss it

in reply to: Neenah Riverwalk #1934781

thankx guys! Hopefully the cache is still there, this was a neat adventure so far.

    cool choice for #1000 congrats

in reply to: Code Junkie keeps the streak alive with #700 #1934216

I think that is a really neat idea of having a different cache type for each milestone! congrats

1/3 of your caches are puzzles!!! you craxy man.

in reply to: Muggle B Wins July LCG #1934084

thankx guys, after finding out about the game and the twisted caches on the list (they are not lonely for nothing) I was hooked.

And after getting some points I knew I just had to have this month, so I pushed myself with the extra push from code junkie right at my heels most of the month.

It was the most fun month caching ive had, not the most caches found, but most memorable.

trust me, I have been burning my brain trying to keep a lead on you, your really making me work for it.

the last dozen or more finds have been way more exciting than just the regular finds I have been making.

    a couple more days left…..

in reply to: Muggle B in Appleton #1931919

To anybody who may be following my caches.

I must apologize for the way I logged a couple of puzzle caches. I just ran into them not solving any puzzle and then logged them as a find, before realizing the point of the cache. I removed all smileys from the caches in which I didn’t solve any puzzle.

Being new a this I was unaware of unwritten rules, or just common courtesy. I am learning them fast.

thankx for understanding and thankx to all who placed caches, im havin lots of fun finding them.

in reply to: Muggle B in Appleton #1931917

    thankx for the welcome everybody.

as for the name, when I first heard about “muggle” for gps I knew it was a non-geocacher, but it also means “powerless” in the Potter series, I go “powerless” hence the name.

and ya, I stopped saying “I muggled it” cause that does sound bad.
Hopefully the name doesn’t cause too much trouble, otherwise Im sure i can change it.

As for getting a GPS for the hard ones, im not sure if I will. I have found some with my dad and his GPS, but I never logged them, cause I guess the way I play, is I got to find them w/o one, just my own twist on the game, otherwise I play by all the other rules, even avoiding caches often because of true muggles around.

Im an Eagle Scout so I played alot with map and compass back in the day, so thats what im used to and so thats what I use. And it works just fine so far.

Im not doing this to be better than anyone, just for myself. Hopefully I don’t come off like im bragging at anytime either, because thats not the point either.

I have a geocoin that Jim gave me, I am just going to carry it with me as I cache and anyone I run into can discover it
