I noticed Mr. InBetween was archived today. Wondering if that was a hole the CO made, which would have made it a buried cache, or (as someone logged as I’m typing this) the hole was already there and the CO just came across it and made a cache to fit the location.

Ingenious hide either way, but if it is the first choice, I don’t see how it would fit the “no buried hides” rule.

Sadly, there are so many of mine that are lonely out there, I’m not sure which one you are talking about.

At Least He’s Handy….. Also some fun ones, if you like to climb, above Olene – But it is warm and wet out here; if you’ve even done these hills in the spring, you’ll know the greasy soil will give you an additional workout=more memories! 😉 Ho! Ho! Ho!

I don’t miss the goo that the Trail turned into when the rain started. I’ve lost shoes from my feet in areas that were solid red paths in the summer. It’s really a fight to get them out of that muck.

I’m sure there are others still in place along the road that we lived on. The Ninja Cache is a shoe under some cedar hedges at the corner of the road. Landowners were friends and they knew it was there. Don’t think they would have removed it. I wish I could check on the small engine block that had a pill bottle just down the road from our old house. I liked that hide. No Crocks is certainly still in place, but I had to archive it due to change in land ownership.

Handy was hanging on the fence. Hee Hee.

One of Noonan’s, in particular, sounds interesting, (he’s certainly had some ingeniously creative and fun caches out here) as the neighbor scared that last DNF away. . .

There is a group of three cachers that have been talking about doing the entire OC&E, in parts – I always have to tell people it is NOT a power trail. Someone else just started going to OIT and thinks they can solve the puzzle cache there. I wonder if the game store is still open? I have one hidden close to there too.

I have a good idea for a new puzzle cache here. Just need to get coordinates and work on some numbers. It can’t be too hard to solve, it’s based upon a problem my freshmen did last week. I was doing notes with them and the puzzle hit me. I wonder what my face looked like 🙂 The hide will be devilish. Maybe another Evil Dr. Noonan hide? It can’t be in the same part of Rapids though, no room for this kind of hide there. Guess this is the one upside to having a green and rainy Christmas – more time to hide and seek caches!

Wow! I have never seen a cache unarchived! It makes absolute sense for the situation there, but I have always been told it is flat out impossible to do.

Outstanding girls BB game Tuesday night Jim. High praise from our coach about your team and staff. Too bad the wrong team won!

The incredible thing about our team is the number of freshmen we have playing varsity, including our leading scorer. This is going to be an exciting team to watch over the next 4 years.

We have a couple of 8th graders we can’t wait to get up here next year. Could be a good rivalry for a while, for non-conference games.

Removing ones that have been revisited but not “found” would help clear some from the lists.

Does this have something to do with why the caches were archived along the IAT?

I passed you on the way home, Noonan. You were pulled off just east of Auburndale getting a P&G hide on the side road. I waited until I was going south on the highway north of the Rapids to do the same thing. I suppose I should write my log for that one AND my attended log for the event now…,

If it was on the corner in long (dead) grass, I didn’t find it. A large (?) hidden by a sign post? Nobody else seemed to have a problem finding it, but I didn’t stay long to look either. Then I drove past the one at the antique store because I was expecting it to be at an intersection. I also had to give Sherry a pass because someone was right at the cache location – just like in the videos – but I didn’t have the patience to stay. Otherwise I had a good time after the show, even though there were light flurries at the time.

I’ll have to check on that one next time I’m in the area. Actually I drove by there this afternoon, but I hadn’t seen the DNFs. I’m guessing that it’s been gone for a while and the last “Finders” just logged it as a find as they drove by.

It looked like a vehicle had “driven” through the hide area. I didn’t post a DNF because I didn’t search for it very long. I was more confused by the size posted for it.

Have I mentioned that our daughter decided living in a house without pets wasn’t something she wanted, so she adopted a cat from the shelter in Marshfield a few weeks ago? Having her in our house now is nice, but it still hurts knowing who she is replacing.

Forecast for this area says it will be winterlike on Thursday. 30 degree difference between yesterday and today.

Looking at the rules and regulations for placing caches. I see that SNA is strictly off limits. What about State Wildlife Areas?

Sad to see another cache getting archived without ever being found. Pour out your favorite lime flavored drink for that one.

Well, instead of getting the free and easy points, I decided to try for a FTF on a new cache in the Leola. Another hide from someone with under ten finds. Three of us looking for over an hour couldn’t come up with it. If you look at the write up, it really isn’t written as a traditional. Maybe an offset/puzzle cache? Maybe a letterbox?

This has become an unfortunate regular occurrence in the Rapids/Point area. Is there anything that we can do about this?
