I finally spotted the Starlink 2 satellites this morning, a steady line of bright dots passing directly overhead for about 10 min. Have been foiled for about a week and was afraid they would be getting too high and faint to see. Now if its alright with the cat I can start to sleep later, … like that’s going to happen. 😀

Now I need to see them. You should’ve hollered when they were going by, maybe I would’ve heard you!

We’ve got a long way to go and a short time to get there…we’re Carpe Diem bound!

Looks like a bunch of the ones on the list were recently archived. Bummer for the people heading to the NW corner looking for lonely ones.

I have never received a scam call, but I guess I’m getting to the age where they may think I’m getting vulnerable. I also don’t get survey calls for Wisconsin elections and such because we still have our Oregon phone numbers. No one ever polls Oregon. We do get calls from there that are scammers or telling us we “won” hotel stays.

Gotta keep asking: Does anyone want to buy a nice house in beautiful downtown Dellwood?

I feel so important!!! I went to Marinette yesterday afternoon to complain at Spectrum about the raise in my cable bill…got a police escort on the way back home. More police cars than I’ve ever seen on the road…state police, sheriff’s dept., even a helicopter. Somebody told me I was probably following the vice-presidential motorcade. I’d like to think they’ve finally realized how truly important I am. That’s my story and I’m sticking with it:)

I wonder if the Vice President came to visit you, but overshot Oconto.

I heard he stopped by Mickey-Lus to get a good hamburger for his boss.

Jim, your science sounds like my CPM Math. Like it, hate it, wish I could do it more old-school. Cooperative learning works when it works, but is too often just idle chatter that I need to redirect. Kids “discover” how to do problems, but there isn’t the focused teacher guidance to make sure they’re going down the right path to get the answer, and because I have as many as 10 groups working at their own pace, that means I have to monitor them and individually redirect them when they get too far afield. Worst thing, IMO, is a lack of repetition of new concepts. It’s circular learning – they get a new concept and two or three problems in homework to keep working on that idea, most of the work is reinforcing recent new ideas, a throwback to something they’ve learned and forgotten and once in a while something they haven’t learned yet to get them thinking.

I’m tired, not feeling well (warm feeling but no temperature, sinus headache, and funny feeling stomach) but we have finals next week to finish our trimester, so I’m here at work.

Because I cashed out my retirement when we left Marinette, before we started caching, I may need to work another ~20 years to be fully vested. That would put me over 70 and teaching.

One week from now, my first trimester classes will be done.

I still have hundreds of premade cache containers for when I was trying to complete a massive drop of caches along the OC&E Trail in Oregon. If anyone ever needs some, and is in the area, the TB University has plenty “standard micro sized” ones, but I have things available from “piss off cachers because it’s so small micros” up to and including cooler sized large available if you give me a heads up.

Service Day today in Adams. I took kids to Grand Marsh to help the VFW remove flags from veterans’ graves. Very good experience. Was hoping we’d get to the cemetery with the multicache based around the winner of the Distinguished Flying Cross, but we went to the west of town instead.

Very proud of our kids and their behavior. I had a group that is normally very rough here at school, but they were absolutely model school representatives while working with the vets.

Avoided talking politics while representing our school with someone that was obviously my polar opposite, so I am proud of that too.

Downside: zero (unfound) caches, munzees or pokestops were located at the cemeteries.

Trying to think of a way I can watch the news out of DC today while teaching. It doesn’t fit into a math class as well as it would in a history class.

Not much to add to the drivel, but this is adding to the drivel.

My wife and I have been Slingers doing Hulu Live for a few months now. Can I say that in polite company?
