I love our ducks and geese, but sometimes I just wonder what is in their skulls. They have started to rip down the tar paper I put on the north side of the barn to keep the winter weather out. I will give them credit for taking it down outside the chickens’ spot in the barn instead of their own. We also learned after we chose the spot for the birds and cleared out the underbrush that someone in the past used this area for a garbage dump of sorts. All manner of used and abused materials are starting to come out of the ground, especially crushed MGD cans. These are favorites for the birds to pull out and chew on and carry around. Not a good time of year to try to pick up buried garbage. I’m hoping I can hold off until Spring when I can get the tractor there and try to scoop out a layer of dirt and deposit it into the larger garbage pit someone made in the past. This one is in a potential pasture for grazing animals, but that pit precludes that use.

I have yet to watch a GIFF movie. Don’t feel like it’s something that should be done alone and haven’t been remotely close to an event in the past.

We have one that was dropped into the wild when we lived in New Richmond. It’s gone missing twice since then, but has reappeared and is currently in Germany after a swing through South Korea. Still hoping to get it to every geocache in Swaziland.

Only took 1:25 for my :40 drive this morning.

We were doing some post-high school planning activity with my senior homeroom yesterday. Their log in information included their birthdate. One kid was 02202002. I should’ve asked him if he knew what time he was born!

Kids are crazy in classes today. I hate both time changes because it throws off their schedules. It was nice having a little bit of daylight as I drove to work today.

Remember scrapbooking? I have donated so much of my stuff to worthy programs and still could make cards and stuff into the next century with what I still have. Another of those OCD type pastimes!
Love scrapbooking! It is one of the things I have been passing the time with as I recover. It can get expensive, so I limit what I choose to scrapbook.
Debby, Tell me what kinds/colors/themes youâd like. I probably have stuff here I can send to you. Seriously. I was on a few design teams back in the day and they were happy to feed my habit to show off their stuff. Plus all the other stuff I accumulated. I would love to pass some of my largesse on to someone I know who can use it. I gave a lot of stuff to the local addictions center when they were starting a womenâs craft program there.
Bravo!! Noonan added a favorite point to this comment!

Using the app for over 99% of my caches, it’s been fairly obvious if I missed a cache. Having the filter set to hide found caches from view, I haven’t had this problem. I have a lot of problems with the app as it has evolved and like it less now than when it first came out, but this feature is nice.

Auburndale girls won their first-round volleyball match in three straight games. Next match is Thursday. I got to be âEvent Supervisorâ last night, and will again tomorrow. Then I get to supervise the first-round football playoff game on Friday. I get $40 for each event, so the next check will have a little extra in it.
Congrats on the W!
Adams was down 0-54 in football after the first quarter to G-E-T. That’s when I stopped paying attention.
Girls lost three but looked good up in Eagle River last night.
Soccer lost 0-9 but they didn’t lose by 10 and end early.
With those seasons ending, my supervisions and extra pay are done until Spring, unless I get pressed into duty for something. I think the new AD is starting to realize I can work any position at any event after my trial under fire in Oregon and will start giving me more work. I’d welcome it more if I still lived close to town, but the extra pay isn’t bad.

Yeah, itâs not anything like it used to be in here. Sigh. I took advantage of a sale to order the little metal plate to register our Little Free Library. Now I just have to build the darn thing.
Ooooh, build in a secret cache compartment.
I’m surprised there aren’t more like that.

We have several maples on our property that are so large my wife and I together can’t reach around them. One of them was hollow and came down on its own after days of slowly tipping. That one made sense because half of the tree had been cut off after a big storm years ago, so the hollow part had much less weight than the part that was growing. Yesterday, I got a text from my wife showing that another one, next to the driveway, lost one side of its bark. Once I got home, I could barely get my car over it. Most of it broke up on impact, but two sheets were over 7′ x 3′ in area. Hoping that one of them is still solid enough to turn it into a bench. The other one I dumped into the chicken pen for them to dig through.
I had the same thoughts about “getting in” on the 00 page. My, how times have changed.

My dad informed me that he’s going to be selling his house soon. It’s the only house they owned that I remember. They had a few places before settling into this house just before they adopted me.
It’s been a big year of changes for him. No more Packers tickets. Then two-stints and a pacemaker. Now the house will be gone and he’s applying to go to the retirement home just a block away.
My wife also informed me that she’s determined that she can’t live in our new house because there is so much wrong – so once we sell our first house, this one is going to hit the market and we need to find a new place. That went over about as well as a fart in church.
Then, we were going to go to the Oktoberfest party at a local supper club. Our son is extremely into everything German. He’s even taught himself German. If you meet him, don’t ask him about tanks unless you have an hour or two of free time because he will tell you everything about them and how they compare to panzers. Anyway, he and I were going to go because “the girls” (as he calls my wife and daughter) weren’t feeling well. We get to the place and as soon as we walk in there’s a Fraulein next to table of steins asking us our names and checking a list. I told her we didn’t know we had to preregister. She told us it was suggested, but not required. We just needed to pay $60 and then it was all you can eat and drink. I asked, “Each?” And she seemed surprised that we didn’t have that kind of money just ready to burn. We left.
We’ve been to this place multiple times. We’ve always known that we were probably the only “locals” there because the conversations around us were about “closing up the house soon” or “heading to Cay (or other posh sounding non-locality)” next month. We’ve asked staff about the party. We’ve read the literature they have displayed. No one every mentioned registering. Nothing we read mentioned it, or the cost.
Now we’re dealing with a kid that has slowly been coming back into the family structure who is mad at the world again.
Trying to think of a way to conclude this, but I’m just getting more and more upset at how things went this past weekend.

Also on the plus side – :ftp:

Wish the Pack would just decide to blow people out on these non-Sunday games. Staying up until the end of the game makes me tired and cranky at school. On the plus side, losing our family’s season tickets also meant I didn’t go to the game, and I’d be much more tired than I am now.

Itâs a cold one this weekend. Even so, I was still able to get out to play Pokemon Go for a little bit and capture a few Munzees. Unfortunately, I wasnât able to get the souvenir for today since I have found all the Earth Caches within striking distance of home. That at FTP on page 1,097!
Got in on the MewTwo raid, but didn’t get the capture. I stopped looking for Munzees because there are so few in the area I live, but I get an email every once in a while.
I was lucky and still have one EC that didn’t involve hiking the IAT to find. Next year will be a bit more challenging, especially if the weather is like this weekend!
I was looking at stats for my bug hotel, and was shocked to see I have had almost 500 pass through the gates of the university. Then I saw that most of them belonged to this guy. That’s a ton of TBs to have. Guess he dipped a few hundred when he stopped by here the other day.
