We tried this out in Oregon. The reviewer there was a strange duck. Some things he didn’t care too much about, other things he did. Hiding caches was much easier out there than here (no offense intended, I understand why), but once a cache hit the archive pile there was no bringing it back. This cache was one of the oldest in the state, and the owner archived it because…I still don’t really know why. I got into contact with him through a guy I knew who knew his dad who contacted him. Reviewer said no. We appealed to GC HQ, and they said no, even though the cache was still in place and part of a popular/difficult challenge in the state.

If one of the reviewers wants to reach out to IB and walk him through the process, I’m still very willing to take these over. I messaged BigJim more details, but it truly makes me sad to see all these caches gone.

Say…the blurb about the old coins doesn’t indicate how or where to buy the cards. I’m guessing they are at the picnic?

Update: Carter caches are in the field and IB is wondering how (if?) they could be transferred to me. I’m not sure we can because they’re archived now

Inj Browning responded to me saying the caches are pulled

I figure I’ll get the Carter ones this weekend. Maybe the school forest ones too.

This link will take you to the list of Inj Browning caches that were most recently archived and, as best as I can determine, still in play. Several have logs that indicate they may be flooded, but I haven’t been to look yet. Most have been archived because they cannot be maintained.

The caches are under 15 miles from my house. I’m making a list of them now. Carter Creek ones are definitely ammo boxes. From pictures of the other ones they look like larger plastic containers, not pill bottles.

This one I’m very sad to see archived. It’s a great micro on a howitzer.

And, on a related note, I’m sure these containers are not being removed, will they be cache rescue missions? I know a few of them are ammo cans.

Craaaaap. Inj Browning is archiving all their caches. I shot a message to them offering to adopt them, but I think it’s too late. I drove past all of them when I was working for the Census, but didn’t have time to stop to find them. Easy ones to find, just not enough time at the time.

I was honestly hoping that the storm would either hold off or return for supper time tonight. We have two soccer games that I’m working tonight. The varsity game starts at 6 & JV at 8. That means I won’t get home until around 10. At least we have an inservice day tomorrow so I can half-sleep in the morning.

FTP for this stormy Thursday morning.

I loved the caching love story!

I noticed yesterday a few of the other threads had replies recently that made very little sense. Unlike most of the drivel here!

I may have one in the works that will be the biggest in the area. My son helped me wrangle it (with the tractor) down to the end of the driveway. Working on the cache page now, need some time to get things inside it before it gets published.

Thanks rawevil, I didn’t even know that such a great day existed.

Oh, the day exists alright. Congress passed a law years ago requiring that all schools in the nation teach something related to the Constitution on this day. Most don’t know about the requirement, still less follow through with it.

So…what’s the biggest physical cache you’ve ever found?
