What a week this is going to be. Meetings, covering classes during my prep, bus duty when it finally isn’t freezing – so it’s going to pour and just bleh.

Something strange happened. My wife wanted to spend our anniversary caching today. It’s not our anniversary, that was tax day. We found a dozen before running to Rapids to get chicken supplies and then our luck ran out in Nepco Park.

Me (to wife last night): Hey, a new cache just was posted, want to go?
Her: Ok
We drive the ~30 to SE Sandland.
Find cache. Wow – 3rd to find and the names are not very familiar to me at all.
Thinking…maybe it’s one of those “CO and or kids/friends sign log first but don’t log find until someone else logs it” things…
Check webpage later. Nope, we were the third different stop for that cache. The first two were the normal short posts. I’m still working on mine…
The reason I’m still working is I’m trying to figure out what to do about the “money” I found in the cache. It’s a bucket buried in the ground with a nifty camo cover. Probably would give it a favorite point, except there was $400 dollars in the bucket. So, I reached down and picked it up and it clearly isn’t printed on the correct stock paper. The rest of the bill looks like an authentic “new” $100 bill with some strange/Chinese writing on it. We have one student that is a native Mandarin/Cantonese speaker, but he’s gone today.
What in the world are these 4 fake $100 bills doing in a new cache in the middle of nowhere Sandland?
I’ll keep you posted with what we figure out. Going to be contacting the CO once I get time at work.

Someone needs to post when these things pop up so we can register. I saw the MtG one and didn’t get one despite playing the game since Beta (that means something, trust me). I got one last year but can’t even place what company it was from and haven’t had time to release it yet.

Here is the GC2GP5Y_bear-butte-lot?guid=9f70dc37-f1b8-4b76-8aa8-5eb1404cf579″>cache for that last one post. HP2 is very behind in posting his finds!!! I even have pictures posted for my log already!
Speaking of memory lane, this was the highlight of a trip that almost destroyed the electric geomobile. (Short video that should’ve been a picture.)
These links sure aren’t working like I thought they would.

Almost as much white styrofoam type stuff than anything else so far. Strangest stuff. Not ice, not snow.

Who does this? If I’m reading this correctly, the CO of a cache unfound for 4.5 years just dropped of three trackables.
I really wanted to find that one before we moved. Roads were always too muddy.

About one inch here. WWSP is saying they have 8″ with 7″ more on the way.
So much for getting more souvenirs this weekend.

This is one of the best posts I’ve read here in a long time!

I still wish I would’ve been able to take the trip to see if this cache is still in place.

I may actually get to Uranus with the extension, however the weather predictions will probably mean we’ll be snowed in again instead of caching this weekend. Oh well.

Amazing! I did the same kind of thing for my little town out in Oregon, unofficially. Every possible spot to hide a cache had a cache – which meant I placed 10 (small town). I let local businesses know about placements and encouraged cachers to mention they were in town to find caches. Last I heard, we had people from five countries stop in just to find the caches in the past two years, plus many California & Oregon people. Throw in the other 200+ I hid along the nearby trail and it gets people to visit a location that is really at the end of the line (the highway coming into town doesn’t go anywhere else).
Do we have a Wisconsin Geocaching Capital?
