          All this talk about Sandland getting white stuff last few days seems strange because we didn’t get any here closer to the river. Now, will there be school tomorrow? Last prediction I heard was 5-8″

          Ideally, they cancel school and the forecast was wrong. It happened once already this year – an early call for an ice day that had no ice in the end. That would be my last most likely chance to get any more points for the challenge. I can’t see getting anywhere close to 500 unless I can get to Roche SP and make a loop SE of Adams to get puzzles I’ve solved. Even that probably won’t be enough.

            If I get to Green Bay, it won’t be for months because the only reason I would’ve been going there was for the big points on that cache. Too many others to find around here. Maybe once the Pack starts playing I’ll have some time before/after a game to get to it.

                Well, to keep this thread going on as a monologue:

                I am finding hiding caches here in Wisconsin are quite different than in Oregon! Need to get permission to hide a cache in a place we never thought twice about hiding out west. Hmmm…and I hid another one just like it today somewhere else… This is going to be a little difficult…

                          I made my own. Every bug I pick up has earned a diploma from Riding Shotgun Travel Bug University including their mission statement and where they have been.

                          Now, the University is shut down for the moment, still looking for one last component to reopen it.

                            The WGA link posted above is dead, unfortunately. I really wish I would’ve had those sheets when I was placing my hides out in Oregon!

                              I tend to save WSQ hides and their ilk to times I’m with my wife because she likes them and detests anything that involves any sort of hike across uneven ground, which I enjoy.

                              I have been finding myself saving the hard ones to times I cache by myself (most times) and easier terrain ones when I’m with her and she says we have time to stop for a cache.

                              When we were preparing to move to Oregon three years ago, I was obsessed with a D4.5 T3.5 that was lonelier than anything on our list, but “not too far” from where we would be living. By the time we had moved, got settled in, and I had time to make the drive there – some local cachers had found it right before I was there. Well, it allowed me to write them a note about all of the above and we became fast friends. It also inspired someone else from the “general area” to look for the cache, because if a Volt could get there…They became friends too.

                                One good thing about not having found many caches outside of the immediate Sandland area is that I still can find many caches with “extra points” in this souvenir game going on now.

                                And, we just happened to be driving past one of the new to the LCG caches yesterday.

                                Finding that one somewhat soothes the pain of people that don’t play the game found several of the ones i had hoped to find this week.Yes, I know I can still get points but it’s not the same to me.
