Well, if you started the streak challenge on the first day to start, and didn’t miss a day, you should have had it done yesterday. I miscounted and thought it was today.

Another fire just outside where I taught in Oregon. We had looked at buying property in the burn area before we found the house where Sandlanders visited us.

If you’re interested in how I have over 400 cache hides, but not nearly that many near where I live, look west of where the fire is. That long line of caches is the OC&E Trail State Park. I had so many more to place when we left. Really wish we could have finished that, but it would have taken years.

Out caching today, and as I was deleting old drafts from the app – despite having them edited to actual logs – and I noticed that Wednesday will by our 10th cacheversary. Surprisingly, the first cache we found is still active, and it is still having issues with the log disappearing.

Yeah, we just lost her friend last night too. Makes taking care of the birds easier without having two old birds and their peculiar needs, but it sure is something we miss now too. This one was easier because we could see the end coming.

Anyone want to extend one of my loneliest caches in Oregon to be on the LCG list? It even has a TB in it. Coming up on 6 years unfound with the bug there that long.

Drove to the closest cache last night once we realized we almost forgot to get one. Dusk was setting in. Found the cache, but when we got home, we couldn’t find a chicken. We had nursed her back to full health after almost dying from fly strike. We found a pile of feathers in the backyard this morning and a trail going over a 4′ high chickenwire fence. Son thinks coyotes. We’re not sure if we didn’t see the pile when we got home and looked for her, or if she was roosting and refused to come when we were calling her. (She would do that, she was a good girl.) Some of our birds I wouldn’t mind if they were gone. This one really hurts.

I haven’t been in that area to look more closely. My eyeballing put it closest to Ella’s Island, but I’m not certain. I lost a few to the huge Oregon wildfires last summer.

Is anyone else having strange experiences with the iOS app? I have a cache I did maintenance on. I posted a draft, like I normally do, so I could move on quickly without typing more in. I edited the draft yesterday, but it still shows the blue ! as if the draft is there. I do not have any pending drafts on the webpage. I’ve also had problems where when I toggle between “show drafts I own” or “show caches I’ve found” doesn’t seem to take effect even after restarting the app several times.

I bumped into U2RLost while looking for FTF two days ago and Mrs. U was having problems with her android app loading caches.
