Job interview in Sandland on Monday. Well, I won’t be there in person. Solved all the math and music based puzzles in anticipation. The others…

Well, I’m not moving 35 chickens to Wisconsin; only 34. The owls/eagles/hawks got one of the white silkies. It’s still in the 90s so too hot to really do anything outside.

Both kids’ rooms are fully packed and broken down. Living room is done. Next is bathrooms and our bedroom – but that’s not much to do. Kitchen is going to be tough, so is the basement and garages – especially with this heat.

My wife found a great place outside Bruce, but the additions she wanted to build when she saw it online are currently being done by the current owner – meaning we couldn’t even think about moving in for three months.

Next up is the Hancock area (jar’s area?). I have Smiley Sudoku solved already.

I’ve been lucky to meet a couple of cachers from the Bay Area, you’ll be a very welcome addition to that community. Our loss is very much their gain! If our lives overlap, I hope we can meet up on the trails out here. Not sure where I’ll be compared to where/when you’ll be.

    Horrible day yesterday.

The geomobile got hit by some debris thrown up by a truck about two weeks ago (did I mention that already?). Drove it 90 minutes west to the dealership to have it looked at and it’s undriveable. A stick went through all four radiators. There is a dent in the battery housing and the battery is completely out of fluid. That and other things that may have happened in the past year that come with driving a no clearance vehicle out here in the country. I thought I would be picking it up and driving it home. (This isn’t well written, just unloading things as they come back into my mind.) I sat in the waiting room at the dealership for 9 hours they day I dropped it off, but because they only have one certified Volt mechanic, he didn’t have time to get to mine and it took all day for them to figure that out. At least I got a loaner car in the end, not sure what I would’ve done otherwise. However, coming home yesterday, a rock hit the windshield on the loaner car and chipped it. The dealership says not to worry about it. I’m worried the insurance isn’t going to fully cover what is wrong with the car and then I’m stuck. OH YEAH, I got a call from the dealership telling me how bad the car was as  I was driving there to (I was hoping) pick up my car. As I was mulling the news over, along with everything else, I was coasting down the mountain and got pulled over by a cop. $160 ticket plus my address isn’t up to date so I need to change it at the DMV or pay another $110.

Our son is still not gaining weight and waiting for results from tests is tortuous, especially when they are all in WI and I am still here in OR. We sign paperwork to close this deal on the 21st and it’s hard to find the energy to finish packing things up here. Just me, the cat and 35 chickens.

We’re figuring we’re around $15k short of what we’ll need to pay for moving, buying a house and doctor expenses. That’s if I keep my job out here while they are all in (wherever they wind up) WI. People out here have been great helping me with irrigation, mower and other problems. Still trying to figure out how to get 35 chickens 1500 miles across country once we find a place. Oh, and we must have a breeding pair of owls on our property. They are stalking our youngest/smallest chickens every night, so I go and sit with them like my daughter used to do. Some sit on my lap or shoulders or head. Others just walk up to me but don’t want to be touched. Others actively seek out being petted like our cat does. I have 5 dozen eggs from the three oldest chickens but I don’t have the energy to cook anything. If it weren’t so hot and buggy I would probably sit outside with the chickens now and wait for the scouting report from my wife about the first house they are looking at today. GC4KNJ1

I don’t think we’ve topped 100 here yet, but it’s been up to 99 several times this week. No storms or fires yet. Makes it hard to do anything. Incredibly, there are swarms of mosquitoes out even in this dry heat.

Wife & daughter are in the Ladysmith/Bruce area looking at homes today.

I really dislike the newer format of the emails. I much preferred having the “newest caches” imbedded in the email instead of a link to take me to the webpage.

We have an event with a lackey in a few hours. Anything you’d like me to pass on?

Oh yeah, the house by Cylon already sold. Wish they would update Zillow or Trulia to help us find places that haven’t been sold.

Putting the cart before the Hodag. Future is still up in the air. Current plan is I stay here in OR for a year while the family lives somewhere in central WI – still not sure where. Anything near anyone under $200k in the country? All we’re really concerned about is  being within 90 minutes or so of Marshfield.

Not much housing out there in our price range with some land attached to it. Wife sent me one that is next to Cylon Marsh. I know just where it is because there is a T5 just down the road I never found. I remember exactly where it is, but can’t remember the house at all.

    Hey everybody!

Still no time to fully catch up one what’s been going on or what’s been keeping me away from here other than “life”.

Talked to HuffinPuffin2 yesterday. He’s doing well.

We’re heading back to the Badger State shortly – well, the family will be, and I’ll be out here in Oregon for a year (if I can take the separation). Son’s health took a turn for the worse and no one out here can figure out what to do so we’re taking him back to Marshfield.

Sold our amazing house after two days on the market, but now it’s a rush to get things packed and find a place to live in the 544xx zip code area. Already starting to solve puzzle caches in the area. Look out, I have some wicked puzzles that I’ve used out here that I’ll be importing back with me.

    Ok, back to packing.

The only way I know to get around the “no spaces” rule is to use_underscores.

Happy New Year gang! Haven’t been here or anywhere lately, work and family stuff – nothing bad, just busy.

Caching came to almost a dead stop once we updated the phones and were stuck using the new app. Absolutely hate it. Lost all kinds of data I had saved under the old one.

Daughter enjoyed her shared birthday a few days ago, hope all of you did too.

One resolution, try to check in here more often to see what friends are doing!

Remember me? If anyone needs some deer, this is the place to stop. Rut is hitting so there are big deer roaming all over the place. Our gun season ended a few weeks ago though.

We’ve had at least 50 crows hanging around the yard the past few days. Some sit up in the top of the ponderosa pines, working on the cones and the rest are on the ground, downwind, eating the rewards.
