I logged all of the April Fool’s caches yesterday. Got a ton of new state and country souvenirs, plus finds. Thought for sure they would be gone today, but they are still there now. Sure changes my map of places I’ve found caches and the types of caches I’ve found!

Translate is part of the problem.

It was on my list of places to visit. I’ve had to severely rethink things since we’ve got out here. We still haven’t gotten to Crater Lake or SF. We “made” it to Portland but I wouldn’t count it as a real trip.

Funny thing. I read this to my wife and she said APPLY (she wants to live in Seattle). I said, “I don’t think they would pay what I make now.”

Checking into the listings, they don’t even give a whisper about compensation or benefits.

After my mom was killed, it took my dad what seemed like forever to change the answering machine message from one with her voice on it. We all dreaded calling to talk to him because he never answered the phone and it would always be her message. I think he finally just got a new machine instead learning how to change the message.

Now, we wish we still had that message to hear her.

Wow, I only missed four posts.

    11 thumbs down now.

The stupid translation never works out quite like it should no matter how I tweak it. One day a Greek speaker will solve it and scold me into a correct way of having it worded.

The one thing that I really dislike about our new house is the closest unfound cache list shifted drastically. We are on the “backside” of Hogsback Mountain, so the half-dozen+ I didn’t find there last summer are now in my backyard. All high T ratings, and a full day commitment to get them, or more than one day. Then it boils down to caches that are just over 5 miles from home, but take almost a 30 minute drive to reach. THEN, a cache hide location I can see from my house is about an hour drive to reach but will have to wait because the last I heard there was still 10′ of snow on top of the mountain (the one in all my “view from our house” pictures).

HP2 – have fun with this one

I see there is already one thumbs down on it.

    You’re not leaving.

    Of course she’s not leaving – she’s arriving! :-)

I guess it depends on perspective. Leaving here – arriving there. But – plenty of space for overnight guests – and I am expecting at least one or two visits per year Steph!

My attention here has been lacking for the past month or so. What am I missing out on?

    12 hour bump.

The wolf is back. Big and not afraid of humans. We may need to walk our trails to see if there are any prints in the mud.

All the schools around here have been closed all week!

    Spring Break.

Weather has been in the 40-50 range, although we were stuck doing 20 mph coming over the Cascade Pass (Hwy 58) due to people that don’t know how to drive in snow. Well, at least we got here safely, I guess.

HP2, do all Tacoma’s qualify as POS? I don’t really care about makes/models but my wife says since she has a Tahoe and I drive a Volt, we’re a Chevy family. My favorite car was my first one: Buick LeSabre (1981) – brown & 4 doors. I once fit 6 Japanese girls in the back seat comfortably (we were all comfortable after spending hours on Water Street [UWEC]). 55 gallon fish tanks fit into that thing and I once had it up to “unleaded fuel only” on the long straight stretch on Hwy 64 heading home in order to make it on time for the Packer game.

GC6E0VQ and GC6E1XM (soon to be published).

HP2 – I think you may have over 300 new caches to find within 15 miles of KF once you get back here!

Horrible news! We just placed one at the end of the driveway today, hope it lasts 10 years!

House inspection today – looking good – with closing set for May 6th. Does anyone have a riding lawn mower we could have?

We need one too. And a tractor, and a tiller, and one or two 4-wheelers, and a POS Truck. There’s more we don’t know about needing yet.

Wasn’t there a “logs that make you smile” forum? Can’t find it 🙁

44 FTF today, all within 5 miles of home. Would’ve been more but the last 12 didn’t publish yet.

I would’ve sworn I posted something yesterday. Anyway, internet is spotty here. What is the loneliest cache in WI?

Went to find a cache today, only to find 2′ of snow and no way to even venture a guess where it would be (in the middle of the woods).

Placed a dozen on the way home in a moderate blizzard. The car had a nice pile of snow on it that formed while I was hiking and placing. Walking the Trail through the woods cut down the wind, so it was just a nice winter walk.
