Well, just typed up an epic puzzle cache description. Double and triple checked the numbers. Start the process of getting it entered and find that the location is taken, I’m guessing one of the few local puzzle caches I haven’t solved yet. Oops.

Time to get working on the next one, I guess.

30 years in education as of this year. Because of family stuff in the past, and needing to cash out my retirement, I am at year 6 of paying into the retirement fund instead of year 30.

56 years of age, still enjoying the job, healthy except for the Covid pounds I can’t lose (yet), and at a school that treats me “good enough” which is good enough to keep me…and perhaps teaching until I am 70? That would put me at 20 years of paying into the retirement fund.

Congrats on the upcoming year of lasts, Jim! I’ve seen many over the years and all of them were well deserved and left big holes to be filled.

AF Girls Soccer team won their first ever playoff game yesterday. Exciting 1-1 finish that went through two overtime periods and then into penalty kicks. They head to Lodi tomorrow. I will be……..cleaning out the garage.

Noonan, Now I’m curious about what this Mystery cache is. GC please?

This is the first one I found like what I was thinking about. Not sure why it is formatted way over there, on the opposite side of where it should be, but it fits with the theme of the cache! On edit, the formatting is normal. It was right justified when I was typing my reply.

If I have an idea for a really unusual mystery cache, something I have been contemplating doing and have accidentally found another cache that uses the exact same idea, who do I talk to about this? It’s all about the location of the dummy coordinates, nothing about the actual hide itself. The other cache was hidden 11 years ago, so I think there may be limits against doing what I’m thinking, but I’m curious.

Here are my thoughts– Get input from one or more reviewers. If they won’t allow the cache, you can’t go any further. If reviewers don’t have a problem, see if the owner of the cache that uses the similar idea is active. Then send a message and get that opinion. There are other caches that use the same idea as others. Original creations are awesome, but often we can find something because it is like something else we found. But if you are worried it’s too much of a copycat, and that cache is still active, just don’t do it. Finally, if you know others who also found that other cache, spell your idea out and see what they think. If it’s all about the location, most cachers can appreciate that.

Reaction to what you are suggesting:

    1) I don’t know who to talk to, which is why I brought this here.

    2) To my knowledge, there is only a few others cache in the world that use this. Since I found one last night, I have found four more. All were placed in 2002-2012, nothing more recently than that…

And now I found something in the forums that answers my question. Rules changed and that precludes this type of hide. Oh well.

I think I have problems matching the 2016 WGA BOD names and caching names. None of the GeoArt puzzles involving them work for me 🙁

    Congrats Amita!

Found the tangerine moose cache today on the way to shop at the co-op. I have known about that place for years, how did I never see there was a cache there???

Temporary caches haven’t been allowed for years…how’s that possible???

I’m working on the WGA GeoArt puzzles. The 2002ish get togethers had temporary caches and it looks like people logged the event cache multiple times when they found the temporary caches.

Ok old timers. Can someone explain why there are so many duplicate “Found” logs for the original WGA picnic? Yes, I am still working through the GeoArt puzzles.

Lonely ones at Sandhill are still lonely. I’m 90% certain they are gone. Mosquitoes are not horrible. Only one deer fly. Undergrowth isn’t bad at all. This is the time to look for them, but I came up empty again.

Wow, they sure have pulled back on the ability of basic members to log things. My wife has started to get out with me and I can’t log caches we find together because she can’t see them and they aren’t premium caches.
