Researching an earth cache and typing up two hides after I get done looking at Hamster and the news this morning. Still sore. Still happy to have people talking to me after they DNF my evil micros at the end of my 50 hide trail too.

16 find day. 13 on Hogsback Mountain with some new, young (20s) cachers. Over 8 miles walking with over 1000’elevation change thrown into the mix. Being young and me being foolish, we cut corners and ruined socks with fox tails in the process. Placed a few too, got the location for a much needed earth cache that I need to research first.
The new guys have over 200 find son three months so I showed them how to hide caches. Shot coordinates at the first, I forgot to save them. The guy who was going to be the CO was always 50’ahead of me, and when we stopped for me to suck wind, he realized he didn’t save th either! He says he will climb back up tomorrow to refund it. He does the mountain climb up the steepest parts for fun. After all the up down and sideways today, he was going to try to find the 5/5 I placed. Failed twice, so I feel as if it isn’t too easy.
Then it was time for a very successful meet and greet which included a moving cache! Not one of Jacob’s though. My wife and I won a premade cache each too. Put faces with names for many COs and finders. About a half dozen new cachers too!
Found two new hides and them home to recover. One twisted ankle and bum knee but would do the climb again (but I can say that because we gutted the hill and left some scraps on the edges to find).
Monday is a trip for the kids to see doctors (just routine) but outside Salem so new area for caches!Attachments:

Found a 4/5 today that was more like a 2/1.5. Not sure where the T5 comes from at all. Altoids tin under a rock along the edge of a two track trail.
Yes, I know I found it too early, but I was in the area. There are two more T5s along the same trail so this was more of a scouting and placing mission today.
Hitting the Hogsback tomorrow before a meet and greet event. Should get two souvenirs in one day.The best sig is no sig.
My son collects the rubber ducks we trade for in caches. One day I will have plenty to put in containers! Our kids are at the age where the trinkets are treasure to them so it is all in coming instead of out going.

I wonder how long until he gets 5000 ftp!
Congrats!

Lots of thunder around here but no rain again. Either goes north or south.

We rarely put any loot because I haven’t found anywhere to get it.

Had a trio of local cachers try my 50 hide trail. They found 44. Three dnf were there. The other three were killed by lagging trucks that came in after I placed and made a new side road. Could replace two of them, so not too bad overall. Hide three puzzles in Malin yesterday too. Beats playing Bingo Blitz, even with the cheats!
Found I qualify for a challenge cache too: 100 total D/T in one day. Now just need to get there.
