It’s almost official. I’m almost an Oregonian.
New drivers’ license is in the mail, they punched my WI one. New plates are coming too. They have motor/voter law, so I’m registered to vote finally.
Outside of the real world, in the stuff that really matters:
WI caches found: 355
Oregon caches found: 314
If I figure out what’s wrong with the car, I could pass my WI finds this week.
Spike is still my top CO of caches found, but it’s not going to be long before H2Oz passes him, then Miller0126. 6 of my top 10 are from out here now.
Alphanumeric Challenge is down to just caches starting with 0, 4, 5 and 9. I haven’t seen any of those come up in anything close to us. All but four are finds in WI.
CO Name challenge is down to 0, 1, 5, 7, 8, 9, Q and X. All of the current slots are filled by Midwestern COs except Y.
All but 7 of my well-rounded grid are from WI/MN/MI (one is a Todd hide!). Surprised to see one is a drive-by virtual in Nevada! One more spot filled gets me to 42/81
Only 5 of my top 20 oldest caches are from WI/MN. One is a virtual we grabbed on the way out here.
27 FTFs here on Saturday eclipsed my total in WI.
My jaunt down to CA last week got my 10th state.
Time to get back to work.

With just me and the dogs, all heaters are turned off.
Noticed a warning indicator on the car today. Oil. Not sure what exactly it means, but it is my only vehicle. Not sure how to get it checked either. I guess I can stop by the local repair guy and have him look at it to see what he can see. Getting it fixed is not something that will be easy if it needs to go back to the shop.The best sig is no sig.

Hit 700 today and then some. There was a string of 27 hidden SE of here. Far enough I can’t sneak out and grab them until now. The CO has been prodding me to get them because he is afraid no one else will?
So, the adventure starts at GC5RME2 with a FTF, which should be the first of 27. The road they are on is coincidentally the road that lead to the N42 W121 confluence point. I’ve been meaning to put a cache there, because I discovered confluence.org before I started caching. Technically speaking, I found “World Quarters” before any other cache, but caching hadn’t been invented yet.Anyway, dropped two caches around the confluence point, had a good time with the dogs, and headed back to the end of the string of caches. That would be GC5RMDM and then things started getting strange.
Hooked up with the other cachers and got the rest as co-FTF, then I wanted to head to GC4MZoM

Two finds today on caches not found since 2013, one DNF on their neighbor. 5th finder since 2011.

Hid caches in three different cities today. Ran out of logs or I could have hidden more.
Pulled into what the GPS said was the town hall. Sun was in my eyes so I didn’t get a good look at the building, but government buildings out here are different than in WI. Could be a huge stone building, could be a mobile home. This one looked like a ranch house. It had an awesome huge tree next to the parking lot. In the tree was a great crevice that would hold and hide it pill bottle, the last prepared cache I had.
Made the hide, got good coords and, as I went to get back into the car I realized it wasn’t a city hall. It was someone’s house!

Finally got my CA souvenir today.
Could be interesting getting the summer ones.
T5 in WI means crossing water. Here it is climbing mountains. There are two waiting for FTF on an island but they only get a T4 for some reason.
There is still a D5 that also needs a FTF east of here. Part of a string of hides and the only one not found.

54 emails for finds this morning. Only one DNF in the bunch. Good logs too. Nice way to start my first day with no family.
