      Saw my first yellow headed blackbird today. Saw an amazing yellow and orange bird too but haven’t had time to look it up yet.
      Tried to finish part of the OC&E trail today with our dogs. Needed 8 finds, got 6 with the two farthest from the car being DNF. One is a shotgun shell somewhere on the ground amongst rocks and scrub. Sigh. The other is – I have no idea which side of the trail because it is in the middle of the trail on the map – hidden in rocks with a clue “rocks”. In WI it would be like hiding a cache along a snowmobile trail through the woods and having a clue “tree”

      It’s already getting hot. It’s so dry, it makes it worse, parching heat.

        Is the message feature on gc.com new? I have three different people sending me messages instead of emails today.

        Heard back from the first person to find the cache with our TB in it. It wasn’t there. He is from WI originally too!

            Yes. They may be gone up to two months.

            Back to TBs. the one we released to meet us here, and had been dropped in the correct cache was finally on our radar.

            Ant Farm.

            What an aptly named cache. Fine, gritty sand, dry scrubby bushes and scraggly juniper. Can’t think of a place less like WI. Temp today topped 80. Wife was miserable.

            Walked .3 miles and then easy find.

            Popped open the cover, dug through the contents. No TB.

            This isn’t muggle-ville, it has to be someone taking the bug and not logging it. Pissed my wife off to no end, on top of her general unhappiness about the location to start with.

            I was hoping she could take it back to the great TB hotel in Menominee and see if it could make it back to our hotel. Now I just hope we can find it. Grr.

                Last day of grading period = tomorrow off. Back to Bend to pick up Tahoe. Family – me is heading back to WI because wife’s grandma is dying.

                  Get to the dentist: no appointment scheduled for me. Second time this happened. Not pleased at all!
                  High today was 73!
                  Cached and ingress while the women were at counseling. Planted two blueberry bushes. Need to dig out more grass from the “garden” to plant a rhubarb plant.

                  Good day, but I hate missing work, especially when they screw up like that.

                              Say hi to Mimi for me! We taught together almost 20 years ago when I was just starting and played tons of volleyball with and against each other. Great to be around her except to talk politics 🙂

                                  I have spent a lot of time building a challenge cache. Been scouting locations fruitlessly for months and now I can’t place it for a year? guess I will have a great spot for it now.
