in reply to: Found this on Face Book #1919720

Ok so your post took me to this…Laughed so hard at the muggle part. Its a good thing a gps looks like a cell phone.

We just went out today with Jerry’s Dad and found GC1G6CV Red Voodoo. Was a decient walk from the public boat launch, but we were able to find the cache. Jerry’s Dad did a search for ice thickness on that lake and it was 8 inches so very save to walk on. Even saw some 4-wheelers and snowmobiles on the lake…..wish we had one 🙂

-Starting our addiction on Memorial Day weekend…our first day we took a day trip to Wisconsin Rapids (our first time there) with Jerry’s Dad and family and found GCTVAQ Some Gave All. A Firefighters memorial & park. We were hooked!!!
-Our first cache by ourselves GCHVBQ Twin Bluffs not understanding what a terrain of 4.5 meant….we found out real quick 😆
-Helping Jerry with Jerry’s Dad do the 4.5 terrian Twin Bluffs cache, Jerry was such a good listenener and a trooper 🙂
-Spending more time with our cousin Jerry’s Dad and family
-Using our state park stickers for more than fishing
-Seeing how many caches we walked by when we were just muggles and saying everytime “We NEVER knew this was here!!”
-Birthday trips to West Bend and Green Bay
-Finishing & finding our first true puzzle cache GC1E18W The Hive
-Taking a TB to its final destination!!! Lambeau Field and Hall of Fame so much fun
    -Day trips! Enough said
-Our very first event Monarchs and Moon party and meeting Pawn of Chaos
-West Bend Cache Bash and meeting Nurse Pat and caching with Elfdoctors
    -Placing our very first cache
-Everything we would have missed or drove by if not for caching & pictures lots of pictures and memories
-Finally understanding how a cacher can make a 2 hour drive into 4-5 hour drive 😀

Will need to get a new exhaust system, the West Bend Cache Bash took it out right after the catalytic converter, and broke two of the mounts, and snapped the heat shield. Our piecing together is slowly no longer working.

    -A gps
    -Drawer for swag only
    -Delorme WI book
-We wouldn’t be keeping “possibe” cache containers
    -Orange vests
    -Hiking boots
-Torn jeans from trying to climb a cliff
-Advil….the thought of I used to do this when I was little (jumping off things ex: bleachers, trees, swings, rocks)
-Extra hair brush that stays in the geobag for moments of we can bushwack through that, come to find out its burrs

in reply to: Did you see the article? #1918958

Its a nice article. Not only explaining geocaching but also putting some of the logs in there.

There have been some iffy roads our gps has taken us down….but if we dont think our vehicle can make it we use the old fashion way, we walk for a bit and check out the road. Then we may continue to drive it or not.

Just like everyone else said just because you have a gps on….doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use common sense.

If snow is too deep, don’t drive it.

And we also have a paper map handy just in case

in reply to: New Year’s Eve #1918725

Our plan so far is to stay home try a new dinner recipe possibly bringing out the chocolate fondue and margarita maker. 😀

We haven’t been to a bar in about 3-4 yrs on new years too dangerous. So most likely stay home unless someone has a get together. No one will make the long drive to our house. Closest friends live 30-45 minutes away 🙁

I got a small lock n lock box & Tim got 4 nano’s from our cousin Jerry’s Dad. We’ll have to put one of the nanos close to him just to drive him nuts and to thank him for the wonderful present 😈

Tim also got 5 matchstick holders

Should have lots of new cache hides soon

Oh, and computer paper to print out our puzzle caches we’re trying to figure out. Oh, and rechargable batteries so we won’t spend a full paycheck on batteries 🙂

Our gift to ourselves is two state park stickers

Looking forward to all the new hides from everyone!

in reply to: Watching ….. #1918857

First let me say Tim gets all the emails for geocaching.

I used to watch lots of caches but then Tim scolded me after I forgot to take the Cache Bash Event off of my watch list before we went. His phone will notify him when he gets a new email….I don’t think his phone stopped going off that whole weekend 😆 Because not only did I have the event but also the pre and post event. Everytime he’s phone would go off he would just look at me 😈

I’m lucky he didn’t leave me there. After that he banned a watch list for me, now I just watch by cacher so I look at peoples caching page. But then its more fun because I look at everyone’s pictures 🙂

in reply to: More virtuals bite the dust…. #1918821

I enjoy vitual & earthcaches. Tim does them to keep me happy. It’s sad to see 4 wis caches go. It’s up to the owners how they want to handle armchair cachers but I wouldn’t stand for it. I looked at one of the archived caches and the last person to log was someone from Germany.

Wish I had money to hit this many states in a couple of days, talk about frequent flyer miles 😉

These are the states this cacher logged…12-14 Arkasas 12-18 Iowa,Michigan 12-20 Texas 12-21&22 Oregon

12-24 Thirty eight u.s. states and one in canada

Maybe they do virtual caches differently in Germany

Anyone who reaches a milestone in the winter deserves a huge CONGRATS from us.

I know we won’t be hitting any this winter 🙂

That deserves a congrats!! With the snow too?!? Great job

in reply to: Double Posts?? #1918297

Ours will post a second time anytime we use the back button after a post.

We stop that from happening by clicking on whatever forum we’re on. Now it would be Help then it won’t post twice.

But we do forget every once in a while hence the double post

If you are a premium member you can use the plan a route option. The nice thing about using this option is you can change the route if you are going on a different road.

    Good luck and have fun!
