in reply to: New tick-borne diseases #1917956

    Thanks elfdoctors that’s very interesting.

I only know the animal health part of it. Went to a seminar last year about tick born diseases and they didn’t talk about any new strands of the tick diseases. So very good info.

Its also nice to learn the human side of it. I know what symptoms to watch for when my pets get a tick. But me….who knows.

    Thanks

oh forgot the work ones, the ones everyone deals with on a daily basis

    Christy’s
pet owners who wont spend $300 if their pet has a medical problem to make them completely better but will do half of the test then euthanize and end up spending more than it would have to just fix them

owners who won’t let you restrain their animals (because they think you’re hurting them) and do it themselves then don’t care when their pet bites

    Tim’s
Not knowing what kind of car you drive then not understanding why you cant get the correct part

When someone goes to a car parts store and gets made because you won’t replace a major part on their vehicle

Thats all of them we have in our household 🙂

    umm…where to start 😉

people who automatically think they know more about something just becuse their older than you, even if you’ve been doing it MUCH longer

drivers in the first snow storm of the year, we live in WI people we should know how to drive in the snow

my grandmother calling 3 times in 3 minutes because she doesn’t understand caller id

people skipping in check out lines expecially during the holiday season mostly when you’re next in line and you’ve been waiting for the last 45 minutes!!!

in reply to: Geocaching from cell phones #1917676

We have used GeoScout on our phone.

Its nice because you can load caches from your given position, which has come in handy for us. We have used it when use “plan a route” and we go off our route a little. It will give you the closest ones to you. It will give you a version of a pocket query. You can get the closest 100 caches to where you are.

We have also logged a couple caches using this program. We still like taking the time to write logs so we don’t do that much.

Any additional questions feel free to contact us. And we would always love to hear from you 🙂

P.S. Just remember we’re really bad at looking at messages on here. Go through geocaching website so we get an email. Good Luck!!

    in reply to: Hello! #1917324

Welcome!! Yup my husband & I were out caching with our cousin Jerry’s Dad before we had an account and he lost his glasses along the trail. Somehow we still managed to find them.

Have fun hunting and meeting new people.

in reply to: What was your first car? #1912383

My first car was a 1991 Red Ford Probe with who knows how many miles where on it the odometer didn’t work and after a couple of years neither did the heat and air. Yes, I was one of those people driving down the road and scrapping the inside of the windshield at stop signs.

Tims was 1966 “Pumpkin Red” (not just red) Plymoth Belvedere. It was his baby, he’s still sad he wasn’t able to keep it. And I’m sad he got rid of it before we met.

Dress Warm!!! If you dress in layers you should be fine….there are so many people crammed into the bleachers that the bodies actually stop some of the wind. Like others have said your feet are going to be the hardest to keep warm. Wool socks, boots, foot warmers and extra foot warmers 😀

Camera is a must!! We used to bring one set of binoculars, depending on where your seats are. Call ahead to make sure you can bring them in now due to rule changes.

    Oh, and HAVE A BLAST!!!!!

in reply to: Please stop taking my caches! #1917206

We’re so sorry for this happening to you. We can only imagine how frustrating this is for you. 👿

After the last forum we realized how much time and heart you put into your hides. Even though it may not mean much we’re frustrated for you…and it seems many others are as well.

Well, even though we haven’t had the pleasure to hunt one of your caches (they sound like they would be right up Tim’s alley, he loves the ones no one else can find) It sounds like it would be a cacher and a very good one too, if they are able to find all of these. Our thoughts is even though it makes sense to blame a “newbie” do you really think they could find your difficult caches?

O’well food for thought…..Good luck finding the clepto. Keep us updated if you do find who it is.

in reply to: Hiking & biking trails with caches #1917004

We were caching by Reedsburg (we think) and there was a ton of caches on the state 400 bike trail. It’s all over and one small town we went through there were bikes everywhere. There was even a place where you could rent bikes! We vowed we would go back for a bike ride…someday. 🙂
