I mowed the lawn for the first time in over 30 years. Wow, was that grass long!
There was a house in my home town where the owners had artificial turf in place of grass. I always thought that was pretty cool growing up. Found out latter they put it in due to allergies.
BBG … is there a Rose’s Lime shortage? Only the small bottles available here in town.
More likely the hot weather and humidity recently and everyone had the same idea as you 😉
I know Mrs. Northwoods has been stopping over at her moms more frequently after work as of late…Gimlet Time???
Hopefully, that hint leaves you on needles ‘n’ pins.
How the heck we missed that…
Thanks! I’ll share if I win.
Bruce Hornsby’s new album, “Rehab Reunion,” will be released in a few days. No piano. He wrote all new music for one instrument in particular that he plays. Guess what instrument it is?
TUBA????
Us too NWT … maybe Jim will give us a hint. Or maybe we have found the one each other is looking for.

Anyone do the “Find the Ws” in the Wisconsin Magazine?
My wife and I are still searching for one of them. I swear it’s not there!
I would go for that cache. What would the difficulty level be?
…got home to find quite a number of copy/paste logs on my caches. It bugs the hell out of me that I put so much time and energy into making creative caches that should provoke some sort of appreciative response.
Looks like they’re more into the numbers over the experience.
I completed some and started doing some other challenges and then it got to the point of why bother! Grabbing a cache because it has a specific name feature or some other random element. I found myself chasing caches that had no enjoyment other than a tally towards completion of the challenge. I think the “souvenirs” emphasis may have pushed me over. I know for many they’re enjoyable and for that all the power to them. Maybe I haven’t found the right challenge yet. How do you create a challenge for caches you truly enjoyed getting? Even going after caches with lots of favorite points seems to miss that all though that has been the closest to an enjoyable challenge for me. I guess I’m just a grinch…
ALERT!: cache-jackings in Hudson. Don’t know if this is real or a hoax. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=f7053cc7-ea13-4f0e-b33e-0aab88db71e0
Very intriguing post. He’s actually holding two caches from different owners for ransom.
Darn signal loss on the TV right in the middle of the weather report. Just a light rain here. Hope it knocks down some of the dust on the roads.
White Winged Tern spotted in Manitowoc Birdin. But you probably already new that…
…our hot water heater doesn’t make hot water anymore. We’ll call the plumber in the morning to see if he can do anything with it, or we might be buying and installing a new one..
If it’s electric… Depending on the age of the water heater, it’s a pretty easy fix if it’s a heating element. You can buy some time and repair it for fairly cheap. Power and water off, unscrew the wires to the elements, Drain the unit (hardest part if you don’t have an easy area to drain it to), they make and sell a special cylinder wrench to remove the element (there are two elements usually), pull out the element and replace with a new one. Often it’s the lower element that has been buried in mineral deposits so flush this out of the bottom of the tank. About $60. I fried the top element in my heater when I turned it on for the season before the tank had completely filled. If one element fails the other one often won’t heat. I purchased everything I needed in a hardware store up north. If Dick or you want to try it and save some money and need more information, PM me. I would loan you my wrench if you stopped up north…
Geocaching High Interest Day will never happen again. The organizers dropped the ball big time.
I would hope that the organizers would see this for your reasons listed. I can’t think of any excuse for this kind of ineptness! It sounds like they were flying by the seat of their pants and had no business being in charge.
I’m guessing if you haven’t posted a “maintenance log” to clear out the needs maintenance “red cross” in the attributes, and instead just “posted a note”, this might be it. Maybe someone who knows more about the working of GC.com might have another idea.
