There a some in the Madison area. To me there a waste of time and will pass with the wind
Actually, I unfortunately think you may be wrong…
Glancing at the ins and outs of how it works, it seems to fit very well into that slot for people you don’t care to log traditional types of caches because of the extra work. 🙄 Could this become a lazy mans geocaching?
Scan and done. Somebody say it ain’t so 🙁
Using the template that GC has is a starting point, then I feel you need to adjust it accordingly (to items that you believe may lower or raise it). Looking at a cache as an owner, sometimes clouds your vision. ie. Boy, no one can seem to find it or everyone is figuring it out right away… It may be frowned on by some, but raise or lower it at a latter date. It’s your cache.
I have been watching this thread for a couple days and have found it interesting. I have 42 on my watch list. Some DNF’s, some caches I’ve found that I thought were really outstanding and want to see what others say, a few archived ones hoping they might again become active or to see if anyone does a follow up, and of course , those that I’m sure that they are missing and am hoping the owner will finally check it out and fix it.
All are caches that I have been to or travel past on a regular basis when I leave the Island. I regularly update my watchlist deleting some and adding new ones.
What intrigues me even more, are the unknown people who list certain caches on their watchlist and often their reasons for doing so. Sometimes it may be obvious, but other times I’m curious as to why they would watchlist it.
Being from Eau Claire and traveling back as often as possible, I’m always looking for interesting caches to grab when I visit my sister.
Zuma’s Rusophycus, GC105P6, is one of only 2 Earth Caches I’m presently aware of within the city and even though it is in kind of a trashy area is really great if you like fossils.
In addition, Zuma has placed quite a few historical caches dealing with Eau Claire’s history. Many are multi/puzzle type and even a guy who grew up in Eau Claire has learned some additional history about the city. GCF748 may be still missing a sign, but if it isn’t, that’s one I would also select.
Might be a big reason those up north out of the way caches get so many fewer finds. Cachers get eaten before they can log them 😉
Awareness in the woods is always necessary. Noise and traveling with a partner helps also, but then don’t expect to see the critters.

There might be one lower. I think of the cache in Lake Winnebago (underwater) and wouldn’t be surprised if there are other underwater caches off the coast of say Florida.

We could never get them all, and we’re retired so we don’t even have to deal with that pesky ‘work’ thing!
Now, if only we can do something about that deep snow in the winter months… 😉
Please say it ain’t so! You’re destroying my future dreams!
And as far as the snow, jump in the car and drive south until its gone! There may be a spot north of Florida 😉
Gone Again…
I must admit that Apple has even won me over with their iPod / iPad technology. I was always the “apple hater” until I bought an iPod just for caching. Need I say more?
No need to hide your true feelings. (Good eye sight from searching for those elusive caches…) 😉

Good reason to be using GSAK and be a Premium Member.
Interesting information, Thanks!
I guess I’m just one of those that likes to pull up the map every now and then and take a gander at the locations. Not really for any planned trip off Island, but as what’s out there in areas I’ve explored or may in the future.
Congratulations. Glad to see you made it across the bay from the Wizard of OC’s series. So close yet SOOO far.
Way to go!
If you grab the rest in Door County, you’ll be hitting 2500! (I think you have a few misses yet?)
My informal goal since I started has been to get every cache in specific areas (or at least all that I can figure out…). Door County where I reside, Eau Claire where I was born, and a 30 mile or so radius from my cottage. I would love to grab all the Wisconsin caches in a life time and know it’s probably a “BIG” dream. Maybe I’ll shoot for all those north of HWY 29. 🙄
Mrs. Northwoods and I walked the trail on September 30th and enjoyed the entire series. It’s probably best done by bicycle yet we chose to walk it. With well planned “drive around” spots to approach caches from the other end of the trail off a road, it’s about an eight mile walk in total. It took us about seven hours, yet were older folks. Plan on a full day, bring water and some snacks or lunch. A must do for Wizard of Oz fans.

It was always on at Easter time, wasn’t it?
Humh? Maybe I’ve gotten senile in my old age…
I do know my wife and I always pop it in the player around this time of year. Witches, flying monkeys, haunted trees, doesn’t remind me of fuzzy Easter bunnies 😕
