    November is adoption month.

I have updated the bundle pack information on GC.
    http://forums.groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=259712

Bundles will have at least 8 coins, at least 5 of those will be standard sized unactivated trackable coins.

    price is $40 per bundle

US shipping is a flat $5 regardless of how many bundles.
Local arrangements are still an option.

I’m pretty sure I have one from our Gold. I’ll double check tonight, I’ve never used it as I always use the SD card.

Since we weren’t able to make a 10-10-10 event due to another family outing planned. We instead made an effort to find 10 caches.
We were successful 🙂 10 caches found on 10-10-10 🙂

Had a delay as I needed to buy a car charger after our first 3 finds because the new smart phone has poor battery life. But that took us to Baraboo for a few of our finds of the day.

completed the quest by finishing off the “Trolling Mount Horeb” wherigo cache.

Completed our first Wherigo yesterday, Trolling Mt Horeb, for our 10th find on 10/10/10 🙂 [after reading that GC wanted lots of accounts to log a find, and we had family plans that didn’t allow us to attend a 10/10/10 10:10 event, decide it would be fun to make 10 cache finds.

We had started the wherigo earlier in the week while walking the pup, and trying out the features of my new phone, Android based HTC Desire. Too bad it doesn’t yet handle the download of the cartridges itself. But I did my homework before hand and already had it loaded. We started a bit too late to have completed it during our walk, gets dark pretty fast this time of year.
After hitting a few DNFs on our quest for the 10th find, we decided to finish out the wherigo for #10.

Reminds me of the old time computer adventure games 🙂

Just took a looky-see at the geocoins that seller has up, and wondered, ummmm, how does one end up with a collection of coins such as that, for sale. A collector? Meaning, does one buy coins from various states as they are issued, or go to “MegaEvents” and buy/sell/swap? Or other?

I had bought most all of mine as they were issued. There were a few that I had traded for (having bought multiples of some for trade)
I don’t know the seller. But when I bought my 2005 WI coins, I think I bought at least a dozen. Many collectors didn’t get in on that purchase, so they would offer ones they did get in trade.

If you look back a couple posts you can see that I’m selling off my collection in bundles. I had even had some of those 2005 WI coins in the bundles, and many others from that time frame that are hard to find now.

Look at my trading page (linked from my web page) to see the kind of collection many developed. And I hadn’t bought or traded a coin in the last couple years.

disregard the insurance pricing. insurance will be included at no charge.

    Thanks for letting me know.

wow, I really got that wrong, didn’t I?

You are correct. This Sunday, January 31st, 2010. 9am

I looked at the bottom of the calendars in outlook, forgot it shows me next month as well. But still should have realized when I said Feb 28th that it was after the event… 😕

Hiding temp caches for the event is scheduled for Sunday Feb 28th 9am.

You don’t need to have any affiliation with scouts to help out. Parents frequently come with the kids, so it is helpful to have cachers stay at the table to talk to the parents about caching as well as having cachers to take the kids on a quick hunt (less then 15min) during that rotation.

Enter the park from the South East by the County PB, E Verona Ave, Hwy 18/151 junction.

Plan is to meet for hiding caches at 10am on Saturday Jan 17th. We may need to park down at the dog park if they haven’t cleared the drive up to the shelter area.

    We will be bringing donuts.
We will also likely bring our geopup, unless it is really cold.

We generally use medium cache containers (typically ammo boxes) for the hides, and they are generally 1 difficulty hides.

    The more the merrier 🙂

I’ll send my contact info directly to volunteers.

We should have our members there at about 8am. they want everything ready to go at 8:30. should be done at noon.

We can also use help hiding temporary caches for it, even if you can’t attend the event. or you can attend without hiding as well.

hiding date/time hasn’t been determined yet.

They aren’t doing the pot of soup this year.

Everyone is just expected to bring their own snack and such.

I don’t have a date for hiding planned yet, am open to suggestions.
Jan 17th or 18th would probably be the best dates for us, we may be out of town the next two weekends.

My trade offer still stands… personal, geo40 record, hogwild traveller, or other.

Yes, use of many plans for clearing out old cache data…. clear the database for each import, or create a filter to find caches with a last GPX date over x-days old and delete them (can put that in a macro)

So I’ll also add onto the thread. We have an edition of them and have some available for trading as well. (see our web page in the signature for pics, and trade list)
