I sent in a Zuma and Jesse coin when this announcement came out and haven’t heard anything back. Has anybody else sent in a coin and received anything?
Double post- but congratulations on 4008 now. 🙂
(Oh, and sorry about beating you on the FTF in Weston the other night…ah, no we’re not…) 😆
Congratulations from OPS,
I guess we’ve never cached with you but somehow, after doing so many of your caches, it feels as if we have. Maybe some day this summer we can find a cache you haven’t already found and help you reach the 100 goal.
Then Saturday afternoon, say 1 p.m., anyone who wants to gather for a flotilla on the Chain O Lakes could meet at the DNR boat launch
Sounds like a plan. We’ll be there!
If you can provide those coordinates, that would be great.
This is off the DNR boat launch site:
44° 19′ 40″ N, 89° 11′ 25″ W
The upper chain is a fantastic place to paddle and is only a few minutes from the park. You can also access Marl lake and get out at Whispering Pines (and there’s a cache there!). Actually you can access the entire chain of 20 some lakes from the upper chain. We’ll be bringing our kayaks and love to paddle this area- how about planning on a group paddle Saturday afternoon sometime? We’ll be camping in family camping and shouldn’t be too hard to spot- just look for a trailer with four kayaks on it.
We are now planning on attending the campout. We’ll be bringing four kayaks and would be happy to join up with anyone else wanting to do some paddling in the area.
Congratulations!
What a great cache for your milestone too-Silver Mountain.
Rick has been instrumental in getting geocoins in caches around our area. His generous nature has led him to leave many unactiviated coins in caches for others to find and send out as their own. He has also sent out many of his own and we have enjoyed helping them along. It has been a pleasure to have him in our local geocaching “family”.
On our recent trip I loaded the entire US with Nav NT as well as the Eastern half of the US with Topo on my 2gb card and still had lots of room left over. It took a good while (45-60 minutes as I remember) but it worked. It was worthwhile when in places like the Smoky Mts to be able to switch to Topo to see the hiking trails and such. It is also nice near rivers while caching to help decide which side of the river the cache is on. Nav does not have any detail at all with rivers/streams or trails.
The only problem with switching back and forth is forgetting that you did and trying to autoroute while Nav is hidden. It’ll route- but in most cases you don’t want to follow.

I told you to blame the limp on an Arizona snake bite- it just sounds so much better than “attacked by a cactus”…
Good luck KOrpl!
Hope your 1,000th “goto” goes well…
Congratulations,
1,000 really is a lot of caches. We can really appreciate what it takes (though we haven’t managed it yet!). Enjoy the day.
03/30/2007 at 11:55 am in reply to: What is the strangest thing you have seen while Geocaching? #1871793Ya know, instead of putting duck tape on the end of the clothesline, you could tie it to the young’uns foot (and maybe tie the flashlight on as well (butterfingers!)), and then lower him into the cave. I’d bet that would be the last cache he’d drop….
Without giving away the cache let’s just say it was very easy to drop this. It’s not what you would think. In fact, looking back through the logs it’s been dropped several times- we’re just the first ones that admit it and replace it, saving the next few folks the DNF until it gets replaced. Fun cache and a really neat spot, we recommend it.

Congratulations!
It was great fun breaking through the snow with snowshoes to make the finds. But that isn’t really news. What is news is that today One Paddle Short found One Paddle Short. Some people spend their whole life trying to find themselves…
