Are there any camping facilities?
Three for us – Wisconsin, Wyoming and South Dakota
Now there’s a controversial issue – TP from over the top or under the bottom. I read of a study that was done a number of years ago that indicated the more intelligent an individual, the more likely he/she would prefer it coming over the top. As for me, I don’t care so long as there is enough of it and it’s folded into a little point on the end…
We’re heading for the Wausau area for a little caching and would plant a couple up there. We could pick them up at the breakfast.

I’d be flying, fishing, canoeing, hiking, camping, photographing, woodworking, brewing beer, drinking beer, restoring a wooden runabout and the motor, working on the house (a chronic work-in-progress), finishing two wooden kayaks, cleaning the basement (oops, strike that one; that’s no fun)…
We’re leaving on a trip west on Friday and want to cache along the way. Would someone be able to give me a crash course in polygon filtering so I can build a list of caches within a certain distance from our route?
Thanks,
OotekWe’d like a couple but can’t make the campout. Will you be at the breakfast in Kenosha next month?
Thanks for the feedback. I ordered one on eBay and I’m curious to try it out. Lately, our GPS has been getting rapidly varying reception. As the trees leaf out, it’s only going to get worse.
I tried our Garmin 295 last night just to compare to the 76S. The 295 had trouble holding onto a good signal, too, below Lapham Peak on the way to 6 Cousins.
I was thinking about putting the antenna on my head and my hat over it, hoping I wouldn’t look too dorky. OK, so I’m going to look dorky, but, hopefully a discreet dorky. So, if you see a guy trudging over hill and dale, wearing an old fishing vest bulging with caching stuff and with a wire coming out of the back of his head, don’t run in fear; come over and say “Hi!”. It’s only me.

…when you hear your spouse say, “What if we just left a rock?” and you respond, “Sure, people leave geodes and crystals, for example”. And your spouse replies, “No, I meant, what if we just left Iraq?” Sherpa Girl had been listening to the news and, well, you know where my mind was…
I plug into and unplug from my USB ports all the time, between a camera, the Palm, an MP3 player, gamepad and joystick, all with no trouble. So far… If you’re hesitant to do that, you might want to try a USB hub which will expand the number of ports available.
There are some pretty impressive cachers listed on the stats page! I doubt we’ll ever make the page at the rate we’re going, but out of curiousity, what are the criteria for selecting the listed group?
I’ve had good luck with Garmin software updates, but, for the faint-of-heart (myself included), this is a beta release and not a production version.

Up until discovering geocaching, it’s the only way I had used GPS. It’s great for flying. All the information that is marginally useful when hiking can be a huge help in making decisions in the air. The most useful points I find are the airports I’m flying to. :> )

Do you have any recommendations? (Oh boy, I’m gonna have some explaining to do!)
I figured out how to find the location. Thanks to all who might have helped.
