Hello and welcome to the WGA! I think I’ve seen your name around a time or two. I look forward to running into you at an event.
Thanks for the welcome. I wish I could go to the picnic on Saturday, but we already have tickets for the Badger game in Madison.

Welcome!
What is a “newbie”, really? You have more finds than I do and I’ve been caching for 2 years now.
I just use the term in comparison to some of the cachers who have been on here for a long time (long being 8-10 years or so). I have been caching for about a year and a half, so it looks like we are roughly in the same boat. Anyways, thanks for the welcome. I hope to find at least one of your geocaches if I am ever in the Eau Claire area.
Hey PM! I found one or two of your caches in Lancaster while visiting grandparents in Bloomington. What a nice area of the state!
Your rule would be a good idea (at least from my perspective, I don’t see every single other cacher enjoying it). If you want micros, go to Madison or West Bend or something. Anyways, I will let the Commander talk with the parks system. As a relative newbie, I am sure he may have a better case. I may just send an e-mail to back him up.
If you would like to take over talks, you can. I could just send an e-mail to them in a seemingly unrelated case to try and get some more voices going on the topic. Considering it is seemingly minor, they may overturn it.
I would recommend any of the caches (2 traditional, 1 EC) along the St. Peters Dome trail near Ashland.

We visited Iron River (~45 minutes away and easy access off of highway 2) and here are a few I would recommend:
GC6F05
GC12HGT
GC13DWT
I don’t know much about pathtags either, but user “sweetlife” who frequents the forums knows quite a bit.
Morgan’s Falls near Ashland is pretty scenic, though there are a few rocks along the trail. Stephen’s Falls in Gov. Dodge State Park is also nice.
There is a backpacking campsite at Lapham Peak (near Waukesha) with an outhouse, grill, and some large trees for cover. When we took a gander at it on our hike, it looked pretty nice.
As for must-do caches, http://coord.info/GC3KJH2 is pretty clever. It is located near Verona. http://coord.info/GCYQ2A near Devil’s Lake is also a good all-around hide. Of course, there are tons of ECs along the way, so I would maybe bring a small pad to record answers.
Brooklyn, WI (20 minutes S of Madison) has 3 by jhawkey, including one with an 80% favorite point ratio.
