I will not be attending the event.
The new cache is far from a replacement of what used to be there.

do you do a buy it now option i didnt see one. there is one coin i would like but i would like to buy it out right lol.
I only use the buy it now option when I know there is a fixed value for an item. Since the coins have no fixed value they are only worth what people will buy them for.
I found that 500 feet away on a bike is not very far at all. It is to darn close and makes being on a bike really hard having to start and stop all the time.
About 1 mile apart would be better when on a bike.
I stick with paypal since it creates the fastest turn around while keeping records of said transaction.
I can help with
FRIDAY:
2-4If I can get there earlier I will do so – I can not guarantee that since I have 3.5 hour drive to make with Kids and dog, which is not welcomed West Bend.
I will bring my laptop* with one USB to mini usb cable.
* I’m still unsure about actually leaving laptop for general usage by others.

When I went to check on it, all that WAS there was the LOG 😯 !!!!?!?!?!?!?! How the cache container disapeared, I have know idea.
Now there is a twist…
If you sign the log and there is no cache did you find it?
Touchy subject to some point.
I would have mixed feelings and truly not sure where I stand myself. If the cache was gone and there was no evidence of where the cache was one could argue that how would they know if they truly found the cache. But since they found the velcro where the cache should have been they did find i’s place of hiding. Is it their fault for it not being there? No… Should they get the 🙂 for it I’m not sure… They made the search, they found the spot.
The other reason I kind of lean towards the signing of the log optional, only under abnormal circumstances, like grandpa_r the log is wet or not singable. I ran into the wet log quite a few times and will still claim it as found. Not my fault the log was wet and could not be used. The only other time I loged a 🙂 with out signing the log was on a cache that was very hard to get to, hard to find, and was a micro. I took a pen with me found the cache but could not get the darn pen to work. Short of stabbing my finger and writing in blood I was hosed.
I guess that the log should be signed given all things are equal. but the circumstance must be judged, but that is still subjective.
Well that was a lot said, that made no definite statement. 🙄

So, why did I bring that up? Placing a normal hide in a wild area can provide quite the challenge without resorting to “tricks.” Whenever I see a thread about placing “clever” tiny containers in wilderness areas, I always cringe. This sort of thing tends to tear up the area and give us all a black eye with land managers.
I thought caches were placed to be found. However I tend to find more and more small to micro wood caches.

The owner / placer of the cache may leave the cache at the permitted location for no more than 2 years. After removal, the owner / placer is responsible for returning the site to its original condition to the satisfaction of the Assistant Admin. for Golf & Parks.
You better take photos of the original site before hand — I can see a cool 1k being required by a cacher to make the place “look” like the original condition in the manner how they thought it should look.
Oh My!
