this topic inspired me today… ace hardware 3/16 steel cable around a tree and my ammo boxes in higher traffic parks are now secure.

I did a cache a few years back in Minneapolis that was bolted to a tree from the inside and the cache also had a combo lock on it.

I would say once it is yours…. it is yours.

Change it if you feel you need to.

I thought some used an alias to places caches that they know people would hate. ๐Ÿ˜†

    Finds Per Day

The output will show all of yours finds, sorted by how many per day.

Strangely, it requires a GSAK version 7.6.2….. when the GSAK home page only shows 7.6.1…. ?!!!

Buried in the GSAK forums is the newest version, with Patch 42 being the latest.

    Nice output……

๐Ÿ˜ฏ Which company employs you to find so many. I would consider a career change.

    or
HP + cache name = Home puzzle

I’d prefer putting the P first which would identify the “Puzzle” then “Solve Requirements” (Field, Research, etc.)

    Good point.

It would probably be best to keep to 3 characters. Reduces accidental confusion with abbreviations.

    WPF รขโ‚ฌโ€œ Wisconsin Field Puzzle
    WPH – Wisconsin Home Puzzle

    Just a suggestion

I would guess “no”. That said, let’s just say they are aware of the issue.

But that’s the answer I expected to hear. Now if our group was a for-profit company such as Garmin we would be able to impact their business decisions. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This is where a group like the WGA as a state agrees to boycott the paying member fee of GC.com for a month or two. However, while there are 967 active members are currently registered with the WGA I bet only 30-40 max would follow through, if that many. I’m not saying this is the first option just the fact that as a last option IF the group could come together a while it would show that there is true unified backing.

    $3 x 967 members = $2,901 loss
    $3 x 500 members = $1,500 loss
    $3 x 30 members = who cares

GC.com should be listening to state the state organizations for they represent more than those just in the GC.com forums. The state organizations need to push this as a whole. A big undertaking.

Something else to consider is puzzle caches that are also multi caches.

    I will be upfront.

90% of the time I only read the cache info right before I exit the car. Meaning I already arrived at parking spot before I read. Since I found that most puzzle caches require prep work I have GSAK filter out all puzzle caches.

What the problem I found is there are now some multi caches that are really puzzles. I get the 1st waypoint and read the description to find out that it is a multi cache but you have to solve a puzzle to even ID the next stage.

    How do these get marked?

Obviously some puzzles being marked as multi cache that require same amount of prep work and figuring as a puzzle and some puzzles that are multi caches.

I personally feel that if it requires the same amount of planning, figuring, and prepping as a puzzle cache then regardless if it might be a multi stage or not it still should be marked as a puzzle cache. I sure a nice puzzle traditional and puzzle multi icon would be nice but also a trip to the moon would be cool.

I identified the issue with why the river in question would not show on the 550t.

Wanting to be able to uses the 550t for road navigation as well I bought CN North America NT 2010.10. With this installed and active the river does not show.

To get the river to show I had to disable the map (one mentioned above) and work off the base map in the unit.

While the issue is identified it is really annoying that the CN is not an overly of the base map but a replacement.
