Sure, its nice to do, and we often see it happen, but a responsibility?
Yes a responsibility….
as stated in the BYLAWs.
__________
Article IV: Board of Directors
The management and administration of the affairs of the WGA shall be governed by a Board of Directors consisting of nine (9) members: four (4) officers and five (5) Members-at-Large.Duties: The Board of Directors shall oversee the affairs and business of the WGA. The Board will make policies and set guidelines to govern the affairs of the WGA. Business may be conducted via meetings, telephone, or other electronic means

The members of the WGA and this message board is the business of the board members.
Are the members of the WGA not part of the boards business?
I have read the bylaws and also know that many responsibilities are a given and should not have to be spelled out.

Jeff, if you want to see the financial report, email our treasurer and see if you can get a copy. Our bylaws require that the treasurer make a yearly financial report to the members. He has done this twice in the last year, possibly 3 times (Board meeting, Membership meeting at Wisotta, and Membership meeting at Greenbush)
The next financial report will be presented to the board in the next month or two, then once accepted by the board, the membership shortly thereafter. The Treasurer isn’t required by the bylaws to create a new report and post it whenever the topic appears in the forums.
Our current treasurer has done an excellent job in his role. I’m sure he’d have some numbers for you if you asked by private email. Although not required by the bylaws, I’m sure you could get a copy of the report.

wzbt03 is taking a lot heat here so I will say he never did get a simple response back telling him to email the treasure or anyone from the board.
One of those wonderful duties of board members is to reply to post made by individuals. Even if your not the treasure one of the board members could told wzbt03 to contact treasure or that they would let the treasure know. That would been much better than letting it come to this.
wzbt03 stated that he is unhappy with some trend of the WGA board. If it has not been done it would be prudent of the board to talk to him directly to address his issues.
The family and I had a great time – thanks for the event.
Is it me or did the weather forecast take a big dive for Saturday?
It is a lot to get started but once you get past the all the set up using it actually is very simple.
I might be missing something but what’s the difference from this and the “Topic: Stats Page – a new look”?
As I see it looks like a way to get people to go to the 72 Counties and actually get a smiley for doing it.
Am I wrong?
Nothing against the idea just wondering what the difference beside the smiley.
This issue is already being addressed by GC.com and Jeremy is well aware of it as well. You can check out Geocaching.com Web Site to view the various post made about recent troubles.
EDIT: FROM JEREMY –The recent logging issues were due to some travel bug log problems. Hopefully with the new calculation feature turned off we can see an improvement in the performance on Sunday and Monday night.

One Idea maybe to have an orientering type cache where people go to the various locations, note there position and compare notes at the base camp?
There are many archeological sites on the island to be explored. The light house, cemetaries, the great hall(Boat house), water tower are just a few examples there were a number of things I didnt know about the island until I spent the afternoon with TS, Lorie, Patriot1, and Geopoo: who are a great group of people(and dog) helping me find my first cache!!!
Just an Idea for things to do, that way there are no CPV’s (CACHE PLACEMENT VIOLATIONS)commited, we can learn more about the area, and there is still the challange of finding everything on the island.
I like that Idea

Ummm.. does a walking bridge count?
Well after looking at many designs and going over consideration I went with a 50 gallon tool storage container from Stanley.

I chose this over a wood box because:
- Lighter weight than wood
- Provides better weather protection (with lid closed)
- Built in wheels
- Built in handle for pulling
- Handles for carrying also built in
I will still have to make an inside shelf so all contents are not just piled on top of each other.

I was banking on the group site. Hope not the only one.

Man this is rough weekend. Trying like a mad dog to attend the breakfast that Saturday then next day is this.
Wife thinks I’m nuts thinking about staying in a hotel for a breakfast event. She might be right but that’s beside the point.
This being in the GENERAL area as well but the next day.
Anyhow, all this to say I would like to come but chances look very slim.

Hummm…
I was at Homedepot last night and saw this huge rubermadeish box that had wheels and handle for pulling. The thing about the same size of the box I would make. The only thing is there are no shelves or compartments. I would have to unpack everything to get to bottom items.
Tempting because as far as weight goes the thing is probably 1/3 the weight of a wood box.
Hummm…
