Since reading this thread yesterday I have been considering if/how to reply and in the end decided another opinion needed to be voiced.
We have done the geocache and I agree with Jeremy that it is an excellent multi but I don’t agree that for one day the finders should be able to get a “found it” for each waypoint. If teams don’t want to do it as a multi, it is their loss. I just don’t think it is necessary to change multi’s into individual caches just to give extra smiley’s or incentives to do the cache.
Another plant we have seen recently that can cause the same type reaction is Cow Parsnip. It has a large stalk and maple like leaves but does have white flowers.
Congratulations from us too.
The one in the Oconomowoc area is The Broken Dam GCW9KE. One we won’t be getting either.
Guess I should clarify what I meant
GPS usually means global positioning satellite and GPSr was the designation for the receiver we use when geocaching.
One unit per team would be different or difficult if you are used to each person on the team using their own unit. Does even the playing field thoughSo, are you going to play?? Some teams have already finished. Thanks to djwini’s post in the forums I was able to print a nice large decorder wheel in case we decide to play. Thanks djwini!!. I use Firefox, so hope they have the problems with that fixed.
Good luck to all.
Wonder if people doing the writeup were geocachers. One GPS per team will make it hard to get a location fix!!! I am sure they meant GPSr but even that when you have a team made up of members who usually geocache with each using their own GPSr may make things interesting.
A favorite of mine too, though like Laurel Walker says people either love them or dislike them. Signed the petition
Thanks for all your time and effort over the years. It has been appreciated.
I deleted their log on our Soldier of the American Revolution and got the same reply. Must be an accepted method in Germany but I disagree and did add wording to our cache page. When making the cache we asked questions that could only be found by visiting, then later the cemetery sign was changed.
Our most traveled TB is Larry Ladybug who now has 38,225 miles. We released him in March 2003 and later that year Canyon Rose took him to Holland. Since then he has been traveling Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Finland Japan, Canada, New Zealand and is now in Germany. It has been interesting reading the cache pages, sometimes even having to translate them and seeing the pictures. I usually try to write to teams that post pictures or place him in interesting caches and thank them for moving him.
Last weeks Brookfield NOW had an article that said that season stickers for the Waukesha county parks would be half price after Labor Day. That might help avoid parking problems or surprises when returning to cachemobiles. Probably at least worth checking out and there is still lots of good caching weather coming before the end of the year.
Couldn’t locate this thread last night but hope that if you booked an extra place for the double Uncle Fun and one for the might be late Uncle fun we might still be able to attend (2 of us) We have found the listed caches and agree that Snake Bite might not be doable in the dark or within 1/2 hr. We will plan on attending unless we hear different
Congratulations from us also!!
So far no red jeep for us either. And I was hoping for a Chili Pepper Jeep after having studied the modification of long arm lifts, sand winches, axle locckers etc to determine which jeep was capable of which Jeep trail seeking outlaws. Oh, well maybe today.
