I understand what you’re saying and that’s why I’m asking now about any possible events. I don’t want to plan something only to find it’s the same weekend as a WGA event or the day somebody else in the area is planning an event.
I’m well aware of the 3-month cache page rule.
We also have to fit it in when our park has the pavilion open. If it’s August, it’s August. If not, we’ll do it before the end of the year.Socko,
I’m very sorry to hear that you are retiring from your hobby. My husband and I have found a few of your caches and have intentions of finding the rest! Your talent to hide ingenious caches won’t be forgotten.
I hope that your health improves to the point that you can make a come-back the likes of which has never been seen before.
Since we’re in the Milwaukee area, please let us know if there is anything we can do to help — whether it’s to adopt a cache or to help you out on a personal level. All our best….
I heartily agree! I spent a lot of time reading all the answers to the questions posted to the nominees. I think you are all more than qualified to be on the board and I’ll be proud to have any of you representing me in the Geocaching community. Voting was really tough, but it’s nice to have it be difficult because there are too many qualified people than to have to pick from the lesser of several evils. *grin*
Thanks to all of you for running in the election and good luck!!!I completely agree! I was amazed how quickly there was an update for GSAK this time. Once again, it was well worth the cost.
This thread now has me enjoying a good case of the giggles. Thanks for having the guts to share your experience. I needed a laugh today!
Congratulations! And thank you very much for sharing the picture of you and your son. It’s really wonderful to be able to put faces to usernames. I hope the next 100 go by quickly!
We’re fairly new to the sport with less than 200 finds. About 30 logged finds of ours are event caches.
I do read the Geocaching.com boards once in a while and I get mad when Wisconsin’s event caches get bashed. Unless they’ve actually attended an event, I don’t think they have enough information to assume what quality of caches the event is made up of.
Because there is no specific way to log event caches other than the way we are now, I think we should be able to continue logging them this way. However, I think only caches requiring the use of a GPS should be allowed to be logged this way (which are the majority of event caches.) The cute table caches and caches hidden in desserts at events are fun for the kids to find but I don’t think they’re in the true spirit of Geocaching. I know I’ve felt funny logging them in as a find.
That’s my 2 cents. . . .
I really appreciate the BOD asking for the opinions of WGA members before entering into a discussion about this in a formal setting. I think this just goes to prove what a great Geocaching Association we belong to!Congratulations! May the next 100 go by as quickly as 100 caches go by for the Ecorangers. *grin*
Way to go! That first 100 is kind of a pain in the butt, isn’t it? Now that you know what you’re doing, the next 100 should go by a lot quicker. Good luck and happy caching!
Congratulations! That’s a fun first numbers milestone, isn’t it?
May the next 100 go by just as quickly!A thumbs-up icon doesn’t even begin to do justice. Congratulations, Ecorangers! It’s a pleasure to know you and to have had the chance to geocache with you. Good luck on obtaining 7,000!!!
Woohoo! Way to go! It’s great that you guys participated in this and did so well. It sounds like it was fun!
As a side note, I’m glad Pharmteam made it. I feel like I helped out a little since my first cache hide was their FTF for the Coin Quest! (Not planned, but glad they got it!)
Sorry! I didn’t realize this was already mentioned in the General area. I thought it deserved a pat on the back. Anything that promotes Geocaching as “good for tourism” is deserving in my opinion! *grin*
Woohoo! Congratulations! Any hints for newbies?
Congratulations and welcome back! May the next 100 fly by very quickly!
