When I started this thread I forgot to post our preference! I looked briefly at opencaching but didn’t see anything that would make me want to leave Groundspeak. I have heard of very few who use opencaching and even less for terracaching.
As close as we could get to our Dec 25, 2006 start date:
There are 341174 active caches worldwide.
In the last 7 days, there have been 149534 new logs written by 24556 account holders.Today:
There are 1,878,047 active geocaches and over 5 million geocachers worldwide.Congrats Jason and Ashley!!
We load our Nuvi with a GSAK macro and our Nuvi supports tour guide files so when we get within a specified distance from the cache the cache “pops up” so we know we are close to a cache. A lot of times we just take off in a random direction with no set destination in mind so this works well for us.
After much discussion and thought we truly believe the logs to be bogus and I just got done deleting them. I really hated to do it (they were much better than the standard tftc logs) but we don’t agree with bogus logging.
Congrats!!! 😀
Congrats Steve and Donna!!!

Thanks for the info. We were over that direction a couple weeks ago and wondered when the stairs would be open. Time to make a return trip!!
