Roger and I have both lost phones while caching. When I lost mine we were able to find it by using Roger’s phone to call it. When Roger lost his it actually was raining and we found it after about 1/2 hour in the rain. Believe it or not, it still worked!! There is a new phone out called the Qauntico that is water resistant, in up to 3 feet of water for 30 minutes and is virtually indestructible. It was tested by the military. This may have to be our next phones!!!

Great idea. I’ll tell this to my daughter, and let you know if it works! 😯
Status update: So far, it hasn’t worked…….
Mine is still crabby too, though I think it’s a life style choice in her case. 🙂
Must be a daughter thing ’cause mine is still crabby too!

America: the only country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed without eating, elderly going without needed meds, and mentally ill without treatment – yet we have a benefit for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations. I think maybe we should think about taking care of our own first
Well said vtwinspin. It is great to help others but I agree we need to take care of our own first.
Congratulations. That’s a lot of caches and a lot of neat places you’ve seen along the way.
Not sure on the nuvi 500 but on the nuvi 760 I use a nuvi macro and after that runs it automatically starts point of interest loader and that deletes the previous bunch of caches before loading the new ones.
I raved so much about the snowshoes my husband got me for Christmas that he decided that he wanted a pair. Being that he needs the 36″ snowshoe they are kinda hard to find in the stores. Found many of them online but really wanted to be able to look at them before we bought them. We met a lady in Sams Club in LaCrosse when we were looking at the Yukon Charlie snowshoe (which is what I have) and she was telling us about the Red Feather snowshoe that is made right in LaCrosse. I found a local dealer who sold them but they didn’t have the 36″ in stock-so back to the internet I go to search. While checking on the Red Feather site I saw that I could order them online. I took a chance and called Red Feather-it just so happens that the shoe I was looking for is out of stock for the season. But on the plus side they offered me 25% of on the next model up. With the 25% off they ended up costing only $10 more than the ones we wanted. Better yet I didn’t have to order them on-line. They allowed me to come down to their warehouse and pick them up. Hubby came home from work and went out in the yard to try them out. He seems very pleased with them. Now we are ready to do some winter caching without having to tredge through deep snow.
From all the logs and pictures it appears everyone had a great time and an awesome adventure. These are definitely the type of caching trips you’ll never forget. Someone should write up a story about their adventure and post it on the Online Geocacher Magazine to share with cachers everywehre.
http://onlinegeocacher.com/ I have enjoyed reading the logs. Makes we wish I had been there.@furfool wrote:

Who put that picture osf Sasquatch on the home page?
Oh my God! What scenery.
Nice picture. Beautiful scenery.
I have a pair of Yukon Charlies and the binding has a piece that comes over the top of your toe. I am looking for a pair for my husband and a lot of them don’t have the binding that your toe goes into. Is this an important thing or no big deal???? Don’t know if it matters but my snowshoes are 21″ and his will have to be 36″. Any ideas???
I just wear my regular winter boots. The bindings adjust to fit the boot.
We also use the watch listing to watch caches we dnf or ones that we thought were good caches and want to see what others have to say when they find them. It is a nice feature and I for one am glad to be able to utilize it.
Welcome to the fun
snow shoes, under armour pants and shirt. now i’m ready to go caching!!
We usually stay home and play board games with the kids to ring in the New Year. Now the oldest has her own place and the youngest is almost 18 so not sure what we’ll do. We will pry sit home and watch movies. Too many crazies out there.
Santa was very good to me-I am now the proud owner of a pair on Yukon Charlie snowshoes complete with poles and a storage bag. I can’t wait to try them out.
