Hope everyone has a very safe and Merry Christmas. We also changed our plans due to the weather. Figure its better to be safe.
Actually Roger saw 2 of them in the Sparta area in the last 8 years. The first one was on hwy 71 by Bradley Excavating about 8 years ago. The 2nd sighting was about 2 years ago on I90 by mile marker 31. It was headed across the interstate towards hwy 16. He said it was pretty awesome. You could see the shoulder muscles ripple when it ran.
I have yet to try the Wherigo on either of our units. Am anxious to try it thou!!
I see that Sam’s Club is carrying them also. Not 100% sure but I think the brand is Yukon Charlie. Some lady there was telling me they will be just fine. She said they snowshoe and xcountry ski alot. But she also mentioned that Red Feather (I think) is made right in LaCrosse. She said they cost a little more but they are a good snow shoe. Now I just need to talk the other half into it!!
Love the slideshow on the home page. Great job.
I have never tried walking in snowshoes but someone told my husband that it is really a work out and you can’t go very far without stopping for a rest! Don’t know if this is so but sure would like to hear some other opinions.
If we feel we have given it an honest effort we will log a DNF. On the other hand if we don’t feel that we actually looked hard for it, we will wait until we’ve had a chance to REALLY look for it before logging a DNF.
Glad to hear it can do that but I still don’t think I’m brave enough to try!!
HAPPY TURKEY DAY!! 😀
Thanks everyone for your opinions. I decided to leave the size as it was but change the difficulty & terrain. I also changed the hint and added more info on the cache page so you would know what you were looking for and added an extra hint in the cache description. Thanks again for your opinions.
I just got my new 550T and haven’t used it alot but I hope that isn’t what I have to look forward to. The camera and the 3 axis compass were selling points for me.
male: 5′ 11′
female: 5′ 2″Congrats on 1000 Snyder Bear. 😀
We have enjoyed finding many of your hides. Thanks Trekkin’ & Birdin’. Our milestone cache was GC1WXZM Reedsburg’s Veterans Memorial. We don’t usually pick a certain cache and say “this is going to be our milestone cache” but when we get to 1000 we may just have to plan a special cache for it instead of whichever happens to fall in that number slot. Numbers are nice but the best part is the places we see and the people we meet.
Congratulations on the milestone. Bear Bluff looks like an awesome cache to use as a milestone.
