Welcome to Mad town and this great state of Wisconsin. The cachers in and around Madison are the best. We are friendly and helpful. Hope to see you at an event sometime. I am in McFarland just a hop, skip and a jump south of Madison.

A few years ago I had two permits with 4 caches in Cam Rock park and the other 2 in other parks. I also have a metal detecting permit. When it came time to renew I tried to talk to them about waiving the fee. I pointed out to them what the dnr does. They wanted nothing to do with Free permits for caching where no holes are dug. Yet the metal detecting permit is free and we dig holes. Hmmmmm I dont understand that thought process.
I figure let Steve (the commander) do his thing. If he succeeds great and let the games begin. I just hope people place the caches carefully and with thought as there are many great things to point out in a lot of the parks. There should also be a rule of nothing smaller than a peanut butter jar. It’s no fun finding a stinking film can in the woods. We have enough of them.

Most of us know June as wrongway Junebug. We just hope that she will find the right way and get better soon.

Start by going to events. about 95% of our collection were traded at events.

in reply to: Geo Art – #1973233

Since some the geo art caches in Colorado is close to mom wingwalkers deliveries, I have 700 or so of those solved and edited. I can just imagine how long it took to write all those cache pages. It took me 3 weeks to write 56 pages.

I’ll be willing to help write pages for a Wisconsin Geo Art. But only if needed. LOL

Welcome to the madness. The best way to meet other cachers is by going to events. Check the Upcoming Events link for ones in your area.

in reply to: recommendation for cub scout den #1972042

you can get a hold of me. I am the geocaching councilor for the Glaciers Edge. I have helped many Boy scouts earn their merit badge and brought many a cub scout out on caching adventures. We can set something up out at Lake Farm park or one of the many other places available. Also the Scout office has a dozen hand helds that you can check out if they are available.
