Yes credit for the LCG would have been nice and I had asked the owner “IF” the cache could be checked on because of the previous log. I had also asked if I sent the cords if I could claim the find. It was a hard puzzle to find the key for so the 4.5 star would have been kind of a badge of honor. I would have been willing to even claim the find but not the LCG points. I just did not want to drive 70 miles for a cache that was not there and that the owner knew was not there.
His no responce to my email is what got this thread going not the fact that it was archived after I had asked about it.

I guess If the owner wants to blame me and accuse me of something well so be it. Blame me for this
    Cache name: Beale
    GC18KMR
    Final Cords: 43 05.815 – 088 03.006
So there is my proof that I was not just blowing hot air.

I can accept a DNF if I had gone out and looked for it and DNF it. I just feel the owner should have taken care of it after the DNF log in November
stating that the trees were cut down, and also could have said something about the situation to me when I had informed him in Feb. that I had solved it and was going to make a run for it in a few weeks.

I don’t expect others to do as I would do but I would have at least responded to an email rather than responding by archiving the cache.

I would also like to make it clear that I never mentioned the CO name or the cache by name. It was the CO who decided to make himself be known so if he really feels the way he does I say “go ahead and achrive them all” and blame me I can take it.

The Glacier’s Edge Council welcomes you. We moved a tb of yours just a few days ago TB3306A. Look up our caches, search GEC, Treasures of Scouting.
    Good Luck

Just to clarify the owner did respond once. I then asked if i sent the cords if it would be ok if i logged the cache if indeed the trees were cut down. Next thing I knew it was archived with no other responces. All that work wasted and the pride in seeing correct on the geo checker is all for not.

So sorry to see this post. I did put in my request for the Flags of our Fathers series and War & Peace. Its really to bad that some games that people play have to come to this.

Congrats Bartrod! There are only 41 Revolutionary War Graves in this great state and of those 8 have not been located. Hmmmm sounds like the start of a challance series to me.

Way to cache you two. Now you can get more FTF’s

I will fly this one by all the wingwalkers. Sounds like an excuse to make a stop at the Mall of America

Thanks teem Deejay I get how it works now. I will just move 3 caches a little further down the trail.
Now when it comes to my 56 cache series it sounds like what your saying is I should get all the spots, then submit the caches and then after they are published, disable them?
Can anybody tell me how the battleship series was worked out? Or the states series? All help will be appreciated. Thanks

My understanding (from experience) is that there is no “saving” of WP’s when your cache is submitted. If you submit it and put things on hold for any reason, and someone else’s submits one for publishing, you lose your spot.

Well that does not sound right. I had work to do on the cach pages. They just dont happen over night. Take for instance the State series. I know i would be very upset after doing all the work to put the series together and then have the kabash put to it just because someone posted before me. I thought that was the reason to save spots. Im working on a 56 cache hide now and i will not run out, get the cords then publish one at a time. What a waste of time.

To me it would depend on the design of the coin. If it looked at all like the 2007 coin I would buy at least one.

in reply to: State Park cache series proposal to go to DNR #1921154

This is going to be a great program. Between this one and the “Get in the Game” program from the Boy Scouts geocaching, will be growing by leaps and bounds this year. I know its early but I will volunteer to take care of Lake Kegonsa State Park since i had plans to place a few caches there anyway. Also what about a geocoin with the Get Outdoors logo on it?

in reply to: Mid-Winter event on 2-27 in Wausau #1922035

Now that the link has been changed from a facebook log on to the gc page. I just might consider going and grab some caches while up there. I could not understand why WGA would post the event if you had to sighn up for a facebook account first. Something like that should have been in the forums.
    Thanks for the link update.
