Don’t know what Pennsylvania did, but he picked up at least an additional 200 votes today. He already has a vote count of 970 for the day. Our best daily vote count so far was 790.

We are going to have to double our efforts just to stay close! Thanks to all the geocachers putting out the word and gathering votes, we did maintain a lead until today. 13 days left . . . it’s going to be a long 13 days!

Thanks again for all the votes so far, and sorry if I don’t make it back here for an occasional update . . . I will be busy!

Thursday, Pennsyl caught up by 46 votes, then Friday by only another 11 votes, so we still have a 180 vote lead.

15 days of voting left – he was actually down about 35 votes for the day, from his high on Thursday of 811 votes. Unfortunately, we were also down a few votes from the previous day.

I did make a couple campaign stops yesterday, but this below zero weather does slow me down.

Thanks everyone for the continued voting and support!

Thanks huffinpuffin2 for the links. I’d not seen his campaign video on YouTube. He has always appeared to be an excellent fan and fully worthy of the Fan Hall of Fame . . . . in about 20 years. Just my opinion, but even my second exwife could have been a fan these last 8 years!

He also was able to pull in 20 more votes than we did yesterday and narrow the lead we had. Still up about 240 votes, which is a pretty slim margin in the 10,000 votes cast each way!

Thanks everyone for your continued support!

    Hi guys, thanks again!

Pennsylvania pulled in just as many votes as we did yesterday, so our lead stayed right at 260. This was an improvement for him of about 130 votes. Our lead would disappear in two days if he can do that again. Please remember to vote daily! (pretty sure I didn’t even need to say that)

I didn’t campaign much after the Packers loss, heart just wasn’t in it and I usually suffer through a little depression once the season is over. I’m all
better now, and made a few campaign stops today. My brother in Stevens Point is also back out campaigning door to door, so hope to increase our daily vote count to stay ahead.

Only 18 more days of voting! ?Yay? But that is 18 more chances at the Packers road trip for two!

Thanks again everyone. The support I get here just seems more special to me, I think, because us geocachers have always been just a little bit ‘underground’!

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Steele doesn’t have an answer for the active campaigning, now that he’s tapped all of his students.

Our vote count was back up on Monday to 782 votes for us! (moved an additional 130 votes ahead of Steele)

When I was at Pack Attack on Monday, I had one of my campaign cards signed by Johnnie Gray (Packers safety 1975-83) I will be giving it to whomever casts vote #10,000. That should be Thursday morning early. My son and brother who have big blocks of votes aren’t eligible and will help to get the vote count up close, so that voting doesn’t stagnate as people wait for that number.

Good luck everyone, and thanks for the votes!

Thanks again for all your support!

Our vote count was down 50 on Saturday, Steele’s was down 80
Sunday we were down another 5, but Steele pulled in 140 more votes than on Saturday. So, he caught up by 30 votes. We are up by 133, but that is a slim lead with 20 more days of voting!

Thanks for the posting on the Michigan Geocaching site!

The paper ballots are tallied in GB each day, but won’t be added until the end. There were no paper ballots sent to Pennsylvania, but that’s not saying he didn’t find some way to get them there. We have a pretty good crew working on getting paper ballots to those who aren’t online.

Thanks Black Cat for posting about my wanting a ‘clean’ contest. You are correct! One person, one vote per day. However, your extra e-mail accounts can be used for someone you know who isn’t online. We’ve done that for both my parents.

Thanks again everyone, I’m hoping the 85 voters we lost will be back at a computer now that the weekend is over!

Yes, we are back in the lead – I’m not sure that Steele has an answer to the geocaching vote! lol

Birdin’ – I gave up being subtle on Jan. 1st, the day the voting started, but I sometimes just inform of the contest just to get people voting. (Especially on a couple fan sites) Hopefully, they go back and see who turned them on to it, and I get the vote.

BigJim – When I told Tammy about your students making signs at recess, she said that is the sweetest thing she’s ever heard. (I’m also really impressed) Please thank them for all they do!

Once the voting is in the schools, do we change from ‘No child’, to – ‘No Vote left behind’ like in PA? (sarcasm)

And finally, did you see comments on Steele’s page where the kids are thanking him for the candy?

Thanks everyone for your support and continued voting!

We had a great day yesterday – thanks to all my geocaching friends. We caught Steele in the number of votes cast, a gain of 150 voters!

Really like to keep you guys more informed in this forum, because it has less prying eyes than the open ‘forum’ of FB

Thanks again for every vote cast, and spreading the word to get me, Rick Wiltzius into the Packers Fan Hall of Fame.

    Thanks again everyone!

We probably won’t have the lead online again. But we are pretty sure that Steele does not have access to the paper ballots we have here in Wisconsin. Please do not get discouraged by his lead, and continue to vote every day. We just need to stay close enough for the paper to pull us into the win.

Paper ballots are available at Best Buy, Goodwill and Mattress Firm, bot only the Goodwill and Mattress Firm locations actually have the ballot box. They expect you to send each ballot individually through the mail from the Best Buy.

13 to 17 year old can vote by paper ballot, but are not eligible to win the Packers Road Trip for two

Thanks again for the votes, and for listening.

At midnight last night we were 120 votes down, so if we don’t find more votes, we will be 240 down tonight, and so on . . .

in reply to: Elect a geocacher! to Packers Fan Hall of Fame #1955171

A quick count – appears to be at least 20 geocaching votes! Very cool, thanks to everyone! Remember, it’s ok to pass the word for more votes, and they might even thank you for directing them to a spot where they won a Packers Road Trip for two!

Our strategy is to save votes till later around midnight, and let them take the lead each day, in the hopes they won’t work at finding more votes. They work less, and we have the time to get people hooked up that don’t know their way around a computer very well.

Only 26 more days to go – Thanks for your support!

in reply to: Elect a geocacher! to Packers Fan Hall of Fame #1955169

    Thanks again for the votes!

Once again back to neck and neck – took them no time at all to wipe out a 200 vote lead from the weekend. I’m sure they won’t let it happen next weekend, and we only have 27 more days of this!!

I called the Packers office, and even though the rules state that you must be 18, they are allowing 13 to 17 year olds to vote, they just won’t be eligible to win the Road trip tickets. Unfortunately, we are unable to get underage voters signed up online, so we don’t know how it’s being done.

Wisconsin Geocachers could be the secret underground vote we need, if we can only get the word out! Please spread the word and continue to vote Rick Wiltzius

I really do appreciate everything that is being done!!

Thank you everyone for keeping the thread going and especially for the votes! Yes, we also noticed the votes tailing off once school was out and were hoping for a lead through the weekend. I’m sure that will make Pennsylvania work even harder, so please continue to vote every day!

Since there were Packer games on Christmas and New Year’s day, we had put off our family Christmas until yesterday (the 7th) It was really wonderful to relax with the family for a day, and still watch the votes come in. It was also the first full night of sleep I got since this all started.

Thanks again to all my geocaching friends (and anyone you might pass the word to) – now, back out on the campaign trail for me!

Thanks everyone for the comments and keeping the thread going, but especially for your votes each day. It’s going to be a long month!!!

Vote for Rick Wiltzius – the way the guy from Pennsylvania keeps jumping into the lead, I might have to call myself . . . .

    The Other Rick!!

Thanks for the votes and the posts on Facebook. It really is a battle and still 31 days to go! But that means every voter still gets 31 votes, so please spread the word because that also means each voter still has 31 chances to win a 2012 Packers Road Trip for two!

The main competition is from Pennsylvania, and has only been a Packer fan since 2003.

Please vote Rick Wiltzius for the next 31 days

Thanks again for the votes, and thanks Jim for pointing out that they fixed my location to Wausau. I complained about it on Dec. 30th when they were setting up the website. Don’t know when they fixed it, but figured they weren’t going to when it was like that for 3 days!
